Chapter 34

 Tebiki said nothing on their way to the hospital but Koken can already guess something was up. Ever since the fight at U.A. the two barely spoke to each other especially Tebiki who decided to be a little bitch about it as Azure would put it. Koken however would try to break the tension with conversations and addressing Tebiki on many situations. Emi found it highly annoying and not her problem.

" We're here." Koken announced. " They said that she suffered no injuries but just a few small cuts. She's tougher than you think." Tebiki shoved passed him to the hospital entrance, arriving first at the information counter.

" What room is Hinata Emi?" He said immediately to the nurse.

" I apologize, may I ask your name first? The school wants to be secure on this." She asked politely with a smile.

" Sure, it's Hinata-" Before he could finish, an aggressive hand pulled him back. He received a punch in the face as the stranger grabbed him by the collar.

" Tebiki, you're a fucking idiot." He spat as his cyan eyes glared at him. This was on of the escaped villains. Why is he here? He gave a low chuckle before stopping abruptly and getting up, pulling Tebiki with him. " You alright, pal? You fell pretty hard there." He said loudly.

" What are you planning-" He was cut short by an elbow to the rib.

" Tecchan? Did something happen?" Koken said arriving, he was confused upon seeing this man with his brother. He quickly put his arm around Tebiki's neck in a sort of friendly way.

" Hey, sorry pal but this guy fell a bit just now. I was just helping him up." He said cheerfully. " Say a word and your dead." He whispered menacingly. Tebiki wanted to warn his brother, tell him that whoever this is, he's dangerous. " I'm here on behalf of a friend she's around here. Well, I'll be off now." He let go of Tebiki roughly and walked away.

' I don't trust that guy, ask our bro.' Azure suggested. Koken was about to ask when gunshots and screams were heard, the brothers rush to the scene just in time to catch the man walking into room. A gun in his hand as bodies of officers sprawled on the floor. They were guarding someone, no doubt. Tebiki was about to jump into action as Koken pulled him by the arm.

" Are you crazy? He's got a gun. Go get help, reinforces. Now. I'll handle this." Tebiki hesitated and ran off. Koken got low and walked cautiously as he pulled out his link pen. It allows him to channel his Quirk. With it, he made a simple shield and a pair of cuffs that he strapped to his belt. He's not in costume, and most of his gear is back at home. It's gonna be a rough ride. He crept to the door and listened to the enemy's position, they were having a conversation.

" You have to help her Joel. It's the only way to let this all end." A woman's voice spoke roughly. Koken couldn't believe his ears, it couldn't be could it? " I won't be around after this. Tell them everything. No prices, I'll pay with my life on this one."

" What?" He said before her eyes glowed. He screamed as his eyes glowed white, he felt every bit of him leaving. Bit by bit he couldn't feel his body move. Koken crashed into the room as Joel fell motionless to the floor, still breathing. He caught the eyes of the woman as she smiled at him sweetly, then her eyes closed slowly. Koken stood unable to process what he saw and currently seeing.

 Tebiki returned with reinforcements he shook his brother as the officers rush to the two villains. Tebiki glanced at the woman and froze. No way. The woman was announced dead as the man was declared unconscious and later on in a coma.

' What? Where am I?' It was dark, Joel didn't know this kid's mind would be pretty dark. Then, he heard crying, carefully he walked towards the source. Ahead of him he saw a little girl crying. ' Hey,' He called out, she flinched and turned slowly. His heart ached as he saw her eyes full of emotion and heartbreak. This was what Marya meant then. He got down one knee and put a hand on her shoulder. ' Hi, I'm Joel.'
