Returning of Arthur pendragon part 2

"ARTHUR! ARTHUR !" everyone yelled at him. Everybody started getting around him. Gwen hugged him immediately. "I'm glad you came back, I missed you so much. I'm not going to lose you again Arthur," Gwen whispered, her voice filled with relief and affection. Sir Leon and Sir Percival were shaking hands, their expressions reflecting both joy and respect. Arthur stood amidst the crowd, awaiting a special someone to speak. "Hey Merlin, aren't you glad to see me?" Arthur's voice broke through the excitement. Merlin rushed forward, embracing him tightly. "Camelot is so happy about the return of the king," Merlin exclaimed, his voice filled with genuine happiness. As everyone started yelling "LONG LIVE THE KING!!", Merlin's mind raced with questions about Arthur's thoughts on magic.

After a few hours, Gwen sat next to Arthur as he rested, holding his hands tenderly. "I'm glad you came back, I was missing you so much," Gwen expressed, her eyes brimming with tears of relief. "I'm not going to lose you again, Arthur," she vowed, her voice filled with determination.

Gaius checked Arthur's health condition before leaving with Merlin. Concerned, he asked Merlin, "Merlin, are you alright?" "Yeah, I'm alright. I was just thinking whether Arthur would be alright," replied Merlin, his thoughts elsewhere.

In Arthur's chambers, Arthur welcomed Merlin with a warm smile. "Come in Merlin," Arthur invited warmly. "How are you doing, Arthur?" Merlin inquired, trying to gauge his friend's state of mind. "I'm doing good, Merlin. I heard that you missed me, so sweet of you Merlin," Arthur hinted, his tone playful. "Ah yeah, I was happy that I was off for two years," Merlin replied, attempting to lighten the mood with humor. Arthur glanced at Merlin, teasingly ordering, "Now!!! Oh no, alright I'll do them," Merlin replied, acknowledging his duties.

As Merlin attended to his tasks, Arthur's curiosity got the better of him. "Hey Merlin, you don't care how I returned, do you?" Arthur questioned, trying to engage his friend in conversation. "I wanted to ask but I forgot just tell me about it. I won't feel bored by listening to your experiences!!" Merlin assured him, eager to know the details. Arthur chuckled, remarking, "Ah really, you are a namby-pamby Merlin." Merlin retorted playfully, "I know magic might have saved you, you can't save yourself," prompting laughter from Gwen and Merlin. "Shut up Merlin," Arthur responded, his tone teasingly annoyed, before launching into the story of his miraculous survival.

As Arthur recounted his experience, Merlin's hope soared, envisioning a future where Arthur would embrace magic. "Oh, Arthur! I think you can understand that magic has saved your life once again," Merlin exclaimed, his voice filled with optimism. However, Arthur's response was tempered with a grim realization. "I fear so, you are right and you are wrong Merlin," Arthur remarked cryptically, leaving Merlin puzzled.

Arthur continued, revealing the darker implications of his survival. "You know Merlin what was the reason I had to lose my life?.. magic !! Can you remember we had a conversation with triple goddesses?" he questioned, prompting a nod from Merlin. "I knew the reason why triple goddesses saved Mordred, they knew Mordred would kill me one day. They might have foreseen it. This was a plan of sorcery, Merlin. Magic saved my life and magic killed me too," Arthur confessed, his voice heavy with sorrow and conviction.

Merlin's disappointment was palpable as Arthur reiterated his father's stance on magic, emphasizing its dangers and the tragedies it had wrought upon Camelot. With tears brimming in his eyes, Merlin excused himself from Arthur's chambers, leaving behind a cloud of uncertainty.
