Chapter 66

*Your POV*
I'm sitting with Betty and Veronica in her bed. Veronica just told us that Cheryl gave you her place in the River Vixens to Veronica.

"It was chilling. I'm telling you guys, there are some dark goings on at Thornhill." Veronica says.

"No joke." I say.

"Well, not just at Thornhill, town wide, too. Something wicked this way comes." Betty says.

"Which reminds me, I loved your article." Veronica says.

"Good. Because I already posted it."

"Wait you did what now?" I ask, looking up from my camera.

"Yeah. To the Blue and Gold."

"Betty you know that's like, really bad right? There was a reason your mom told you not to do that."

"Well, I did. And I can take the small consequences that come."

I just sigh.

"Betty, now that it's just us girls, are you sure that you're cool with Archie and I? Do you swear on the September issue?" Veronica asks.

"And on my copy of Forever by Judy Blume." She finishes. V smiles.

I hear a knock at the door, and Polly comes in. "Aw, I miss this. Gossiping, doing homework, being a River Vixen."

"Wait you were?" I ask.

She laughs, "Yep. I just miss going to school."

"Then come back." I shrug.

"But my mom doesn't want me to."

"Naturally, but, what she doesn't know what hurt her." Betty says.

"Damn you're just looking for trouble, aren't you?" I ask.

She laughs.

*Archie's POV*
I walk in with Jug. "That hottie kept looking at you." I say.

"Shut up, I'm with (Y/N)." he laughs, and I do too. I throw my coat on the stairs and we walk to the kitchen.

"Hey guys, um.." my dad starts. There's a woman with him, sitting at the counter. "This is, Ms. Weiss from Social Services. She's uh, she's Jughead's case worker."

Jug's smile fades, and so does mine.

"Jughead, I know how, the last couple days have been terrible, and emotional." She starts. Jug leans against the doorway. "Your father's facing serious jail time. And your mother's over-extended and out of state. We, just want to make sure that you're taken care of properly."

"Well, he can still stay with us, right Dad?" I step forward.

"I, offered." He says.

"Great, so what's the problem?"

He sighs, "It was a DUI. After your mom left. Look, we can talk about this later. But between that and my cash flew problems, unfortunately, it knocks me out."

I just look down.

"There, is a foster family, down on the Southside, they've offered to take you in. They're good people, worked with us before." She says.

"That doesn't sound, too horrible." Jug says.

"But, it does mean that you'll be in a different school district. So, you'll have to transfer."

"What the hell, when is all of this supposed to happen?" I ask.

"The paperwork's all been processed. And unless there is a sudden change in your father's case, you'll be on the Southside by the end of the week." she finishes.

I look over at Jug. He closes his eyes, and glances back over to me.
