I've been running from the police for hours now. I didn't know if they were actually still following me though after I dashed into the woods, but I didn't want to stop and find out.
I wasn't really paying a lot of attention to where I was running anymore really, I was just running away. Which ended up leading me into these thick woods.
The more I thought, the more I started to stop looking at the floor of the forest. I accidentally caught one of my boots on a thick tree root sprouting from the ground, causing me to trip and twist my ankle.
I hissed in pain, untangling my foot from the branch. "Shit," I muttered. "I don't have any medical supplies."
As soon as I said it, I knew how stupid that sounded. How would a recent escapee have medical supplies? Or really anything.
I leaned my hand against the nearest tree trunk, which happened to be the one I tripped on, and slowly lifted myself up using my working leg.
"Man, now what?" I wondered out loud. I looked around at my surroundings, seeing nothing but trees for miles.
"I guess it wouldn't hurt to take a quick nap," I mumbled to myself, sliding back down to the ground and leaning up against the tree. "One nap couldn't hurt,"

"Hey, hey!"
I groaned. "Where am I again?"
I opened my eyes slowly to see a girl about my age kneeling in front of me. She sighed in relief. "Thank goodness! I didn't know whether or not you were dead!"
I scowled. "Why would I be dead? I just have a twisted ankle,"
"So? For all I knew you could have something else." she said. "Come on, I can help fix you up,"
She doesn't recognize me, I thought. There must not be any news on me yet. But there will be soon. I can't stay anywhere for to long.
"Sorry, I can't," I said harshly, putting my hand on the side of the tree trunk. "I have to go,"
"Oh no you don't!" She said, quickly wrapping her arm around my waist and lifted me up, letting me rest some of my weight on her. "I'm fixing you up now! If you even try to walk anywhere it could become severely worse. I can't let you go without being fixed up,"
I sneered. "Just let me go, it'll be best for you. You don't want to be around someone like me,"
"We'll that's sweet of you to say but I don't really care what you think or what anyone else thinks." she said, starting to get mad. "You're injured which means I have to help you,"
"You don't have to," I said.
"Shut up!" She hissed. "I told you, I don't care what you think. This is for you own good so stop being so stubborn."
I huffed in annoyance as she helped me walk farther into the woods.
"Where're we going, uh," I trailed off.
"Just call me Doctor, I'll tell you my name once you're healed up," she smirked. "Your name?"
I can't actually tell her, she'll know I'm a prisoner. Even if I was framed, what I supposedly done is enough for me to get thrown in jail for at least a good twenty years.
"Uh, just call me Patient," I said back.
She laughed. "No way! That's my trick! I'm the boss of you until you're better so what's your actual name?"
