Before I Fall

-Sophia

I think to myself most nights now, just saying if I hadn't left James apartment maybe this wouldn't be me lying here naked in this bed chained to the frame. Maybe my eyes wouldn't be red from crying so much . I keep hoping for my hero but I realize as I lay here who actually knows I'm gone? Besides my family looking for me for the past couple of months haven't even found me and James the guy who took care of me doesn't know anything about me. I have no one. I'm absolutely alone. I turned my head toward the balcony where the man stood on the phone but past him was a beautiful sun rising its rays shining through the curtains.

I could hear my heartbeat.

There was a sudden knock at the door interrupting my gaze at what I hoped would be my paradise away from this nightmare I'm living.

"Don't worry I'll get it, you look a little tied up right now"

He smirked and chuckled as he thought that pun was funny.

"Hey boss, here's breakfast just like you asked"

I couldn't see who was at the door, but there was no use in screaming everyone here works for him and I could tell everyone was scared to do anything without his fucking blessing, but what else could I think of doing.

"HELPPPPP MEEE!!! PLEASE" I screamed on the top of my lungs, but they only ignored me.

"Ah, thank you, you may go now"

He nodded and closed the door, he walked in the room with a cart and many plates of food. I don't know how long it's been since I've ate.

"You think thats funny?" He sent an ugly glare my way.

"Breakfast in bed" I glared at him.

"Aww come on, don't be mad, have breakfast with me"

He set a plate beside me, I didn't even glance at the food. I didn't want anything from him, not after what he had done to me. His phone received a text which I assume was important considering he left without taking away the food cart by the bed, and if there's food there are forks and knives. I could hear him lock the door. I knocked over the plate of food beside me.

I tried to reach the cart with my feet and pulled the cover of the cart, everything spilled onto the bed, I struggled trying to find the knife. I finally got hold of it and got it in my hand I began to cut myself free but of course it took forever just to cut one.

I got free from the rope and grab my underwear and pants, I put my bra back on but I didn't have a shirt to wear. I grabbed the sheet and cut it into a smaller fabric and wrapped it into a top. it looked awful but that was the least of my problems. I tried to open the bedroom door but it was locked shut.

I suddenly thought. Balcony.

Maybe if I jump, I leaned up to the balcony realizing that if I jumped off the fifth floor I would most likely die.

I knew there was someone mostly likely guarding me. I could hear their radio go off once in awhile. What surprises me the most that one in this hotel or building or where ever we are no one seem to care that I'm a hostage.

I knocked on the bedroom door and waited.

I stood behind the door with the knife in my hand, not knowing what exactly I was going to do with it. I looked at my shaking hand and held my breathe with the door nob started moving.
