Chapter 41 // Wounds

"So, where are we off to Yuki?"
"D-Don't call me that." he requested, "that's what Mineko named me."
"Sorry Akira. Where do you want to go?" Budo asked.
"The store."
"What are you buying?"
"Bleach."
"Woah woah Akira you don't need to-"
"For my tongue." he smirked at Budo.
"Huh?"
"I made out with my twin sister. I need it." he laughed a little.
"Yeah. I'm finding it a little weird too to be honest."
"What do you mean?" Akira asked.
"I guess there's just something I find attractive about Aishis." Budo laughed. "So anyway, you seemed to be interested in Taro, eh?" I nudged him.
"I mean, he is pretty cute." he smiled, "And I saw how he was with Ayano. Uh.. sorry to bring that up. I just.."
"I get it, Akira." I put my hand on his shoulder. "Anyway, what do you actually want to buy?"
"Hair dye remover. I want my natural hair colour back. And I'm going to stop wearing contact lenses."
"Good for you buddy." Budo smiled. "You'll love the Aishis."
"Mhm well I hope I love Ayano a little less." he scraped his tongue.
"You don't have a crush on her, do you?"
"Ayano? Hell no. She's a great girl but not my type. Oh, and we're twins so there's that." he shivered.
"Well Akira, I wish you luck in your future relationships." Budo laughed, "Wait so, Taro or Shin?"
"I feel like it'd be weird to date Shin after pretending to be him for so long. So Taro."
"I got you bro. I'll hook you up."
"Thanks man. I uhh.. I kinda feel guilty for asking this but.. can I have a hug?" he scratched the back of his neck.
"Come here." I pulled him in for a hug.
"I feel bad for asking." he hugged me tightly, "But after everything I just found out.."
"I understand Akira. I'm here for you bro."
"Do you think Ayano cares about us being friends?" he asked.
"Nah, she knows I love her. She can't exactly expect us to not get along well after we were dating."
"Yeah I guess." he let go.
"You're lucky to have a sister like Ayano." I smiled.
"And you're lucky to have a girlfriend like Ayano, so as her brother I'm supposed to threaten you or some shit." he laughed.
"You don't have to do the protective brother act with me." Budo laughed too.

The soon to be brother in laws entered the shop and purchased some hair dye remover, along with some snacks.

"Why didn't you tell me?" Ayano asked her mother.
"We thought you'd try to find him.." Takuro answered.
"It would have put you in danger. But now we can all be a family again!"
"I'm sorry that you had to do that.." Ayano sighed.
"At least everything worked out for the best." Taro rubbed Ayano's back in a friendly way.
"Yeah, things are gonna start looking up now." Shin smiled.

Ayano then received a phone call from a rather frantic green girl.

"A-Ayano it's me. I'm here with Yandere Dev."
"You finally got to meet him?"
"That's not important.. Yuu-Yuuto he's.. he was fine and then all of a sudden.."
"Midori calm down, what's going on?"
"He was rushed into the operation room. He might.. he might.." Midori audibly broke down in tears and was comforted by Yan Dev. That must have been the first time he was particularly kind to her.
"I'll.. I'll come straight there."
"They won't let anyone else in.. the police are trying to find Asuna and Hanako as we speak.."
"Well uhh, I just met my twin brother soo.. I guess it's quite the eventful day."
"C-Congrats."
"I'm sure Yuuto will be fine."
"Thank you Ayano.." she sniffed, "I'll talk to you later."
"Alright, good luck sweetie."
"B-Bye Ayano."

Ayano put her head in her hands and sighed.

"What's up?" Shin asked.
"Yuuto might.. he might die."

Suddenly, the door opened and some laughter entered the household. Budo and Akira.

"Woah woah, is everything okay?" Budo rushed over to Ayano, giving her a big hug.
"Yuuto might die Budo.."
"Shit.. I'm sure he'll be okay." he kissed her on the cheek sweetly.

One more knock was at the door. Budo got up and opened the door, it was the police.

"We understand you're the friends of Yuuto Atarashii. May we come in?"
"Y-Yes sir." Budo opened up the door more and held it open for the officers.
"We're sorry to disturb you. From the looks of it you've already heard the news about Yuuto's state, and we give you our most sincere apologies. We have a few things updated due to an anonymous source that found out evidence for us." The police explained things that the group already knew and then gave some more details, "We're looking for a.. Yuki. Do you happen to know anyone with that name?" the group all responded negatively.
"Do you have any form of identification sir? Yuki was described to have white hair.."
"I can go get his birth certificate if that would help." Takuro smiled.
"That would be great, thank you sir."

The police looked at Akira's birth certificate and confirmed that he was not Yuki. Although he kind of was.. As far as the law was concerned, Yuki was never a real person. There was no way of identifying Akira as Yuki. He was safe.

"We apologise Akira, it's just a check that we have to do." they bowed.
"Oh I understand. I really hope everything gets sorted out." he sighed.
"About that.." an officer began. "Hanako has been arrested again and awaits trial."
"And Asuna?" Shin asked.
"Uh.. I don't know how to tell you this but.."
"Please tell me you caught the girl that hit me."
"She uh.. she thought she killed her brother. Asuna.. Asuna is dead. She killed herself at the scene out of guilt for her brother.."

The room stayed silent for a minute.

"We apologise for everything that has happened."
"T-Thank you for telling us.."
"Thank you officers.."
