Running. That's what Ezra was doing. Running far way from the base. Far from everyone. Voices screamed in his mind. Laughs, hoarse voices. All in his mind. It was all in his mind.

"Come on Ezra. Join me."

Ezra hold back a cry. It was Maul. Maul. The evil cockroach with horns. The one who caused pain to the family. Ashoka. Kanan. Ezra, most likely.

"Go away Maul!" Ezra cried running more faster. "Leave me alone!" He was now on the verge of crying. He passed by rocks, weird trees, only be far.

"Ezra. Your master. He doesn't love you!"

Ezra choked on pain. Kanan. He was so far away from him. He needed Kanan but he wasn't there. Too far.

Run Ezra! He thought. Run far! Maul won't catch you. With that, he kept running. You won't catch me Maul! Never!

Ezra ran until he bummed into something. He jumped up as his blood ran cold and his eyes dilated small. Maul. "Ezra." A grin formed across his face.

Ezra stumbled back and screamed. "No!" He cried, tears now running down his face. "Kanan!" He cried.

Kanan! Help! Maul! It's Maul! His vision began to darken his world then turned black.

   ........

Kanan was outside along with Sabine and Hera. He didn't know where Ezra took off to.

"You think maybe he went for a walk?" Sabine asked. Kanan shook his head. "I don't know." Kanan wanted to find him to help. He can't figure out what's been happening to the kid.

"Let me look around the base, he should be near." Kanan started walking towards the ships. Kanan wants to help Ezra but, he was always distance. We would say 'I don't want you getting hurt'

Kanan walked passed some pilots and was walking to Rex. "Hey Rex." He raised a hand. "Hi Kanan."

"Have you seen Ezra lately?" He asked. Rex looked down then up. "I did see him take off that way." He pointed out to the opening. Kanan raised a brow. "Anything else?"

"The kid look awfully pale. Looked like he seen a ghost or something, he kept saying 'Stay away' and 'Don't hurt him'." Kanan felt his heart stop. This wasn't right.

"How long has he been gone?" He asked in worried father mode. "Three, maybe four hours." He paused. "Ezra has been working hard, I don't know what the kid is seeing."

"I'll find out soon. First I gotta find him." He took off in the direction Rex pointed towards. Kanan ran with all his power, even how tired he was he kept running.

Find him. He kept repeating in his mind. As he passed spiders, he knew exactly where he was going near towards. The spiders hideout. Easy for Kanan, but worried.

Kanan stopped and felt an odd feeling. Fear. He felt his heart beat more. Sadness. It's faint but I need to know where to go.

The feeling was faint but Kanan just needed to figure out which direction to go to. He moved forward. It a getting farther away. He backed up and went left. More feeling.

Run. He started taking off again. The feeling was getting stronger, even though it was giving him a migraine, he kept going. Ezra. I'm here. As he tried to connect through the Force.

  Then... something happen.

    Kanan! Help! Maul! It's Maul!

Kanan bought dropped to the ground. The cockroach! He was now angry. He ran more and felt like someone was bashing his head with a glass pot. Damn migraine!

Kanan ran until he saw what made his heart hurt. Ezra was in the ground, covered in sand. Out cold. "Ezra!" He cried. He ran to him and made him look at him.

"Son. Wake up." He shook him. Nothing. Crap! He shook him some more but Ezra didn't move.

Ezra stirred and looked up. His expression turns from confused to fear. "Ahhhh!" He screamed. Kanan held him tight and pulled him close to his chest.

"Ezra it's me. Mauls not here." He made Ezra face him but Ezra was in tears now. He was sobbing and tried to free himself from his grasp but Kanan helped him tight. "Shhhh. Shhhh. It's ok, I'm here. Maul's gone." Ezra stopped moving.

"Dad?" He whimpered. Kanan felt his heart swell up. "Yes?"

"Maul...he...he..." Ezra was now having a panic attack. "Ezra, breathe." Ezra panicked more.

Kanan placed his hand on Kanan's chest. "Like me." He said. "In and out. In and out." Ezra kept doing it and he faced Kanan. His eyes rolled into the back of his head and he lean against Kanan's chest.

He's out. He picked up Ezra and headed back to the base. Ezra snuggled close to his neck and smiled. "Thanks daddy." He mumbled. Kanan let out a chuckle. "Your welcome my child."
