Harry asked you to the Yule ball with a card. It was simple, old fashioned and cliché, but cliché's are cliché's for a reason. They work.
Ron Weasley:
Ron just blurted it out. He wanted to ask you in a special way, but chickened out and just wanted to get it over with.
Draco Malfoy:
He didn't ask you at all. Since he hadn't been in a prior relationship he didn't know he had to actually ask you to such things, he just assumed you were going together.
Neville Longbottom:
You had to ask him. You knew he wouldn't get the nerve to ask, but he was working on it. He agreed to go.
Fred Weasley:
Fred asked you in the middle of class. He handed you a note saying "Yule Ball? Yes or no."
You circled yes and passed it back.
George Weasley:
George sent you a letter. He actually wrote a letter and sent out his owl from Hogwarts to come back to Hogwarts.
