I was headed to the airport to pick up Heath. My grandparents were back at their hotel, waiting for me to grab them next. I parked my car in front of the terminal and got out. I fixed my oversized hoodie I was wearing as a dress as well as pulled up the red velvet thigh-high boots I was wearing. I looked in my side mirror, seeing that my simple makeup of mascara and light brown eyeshadow I used as winged eyeliner was still perfectly intact. My hair was in a messy bun with a big, black bow in the front and I tightened it slightly to make sure it stayed. I walked around to the passenger's side door and waited eagerly as people started to walk out of the airport.
I blinked once and saw Heath already running full speed towards me. He dropped his bag in front of me and lifted me up. I wrapped my legs around his torso as he held onto me by the back of my thighs, squeezing them tightly. He kissed me hard, speaking in between smaller kisses. "I don't know why, but this was the worst time I've been away from you so far."
I smiled, getting off of him. I wrapped my arms around his neck as he kept his hands on my hips. "You ready for dinner?"
Heath backed up, taking off his navy blue hoodie. He handed me his hoodie to revel a black button up with suspenders and a red bow tie. I looked to see Heath wearing dress pants and black cowboy boots. "Am I ready?" He scoffed, taking off his snapback and throwing it to me. He fixed his hair, revealing that it was perfect jelled into his gentleman's haircut. "Baby girl, I was born to impress."
I smile, giving him a quick kiss on the cheek before whispering in his ear. "God, I can't wait to go home with you tonight."

We went to a local Italian place Heath and I had been to only once, but it was fantastic. My grandparents were more in love with Heath than I was. My grandfather especially took a liking to Heath, talking about how much they disliked their fathers and bonding. My grandmother had told me that she would not be surprised if within the next few months he proposed. I shook my head, telling her I don't think that would be happening for another year or so.
We had finished at the restaurant and we drove my grandparents back to their hotel. Heath and I promised to get them in the morning as their flight home was quite early. As we went back home, I had Heath text Gabbie from my phone for me. He smiled and she answered saying she was coming to the guy's house anyway so we would be seeing each other still.
Once parked, we walked up to Heath and Zane's apartment slowly. I held onto his arm loosely as he smiled down at me. "You're so beautiful."
"My family is obsessed with you." I kissed his arm lightly.
"They have good taste." I rolled my eyes as we reached his front door. He pulled out his keys while I leaned on the wall next to the door. He stopped, looking over at me.
"What?"
Heath grabbed me by my neck, pushing me hard into the wall. He stood with his right leg in between my legs and I felt my hoodie slightly roll up. He began to kiss me intensely, biting my bottom lip. I felt my legs go numb from excitement as he reached his hand down and slid in between my thighs. He parted them slightly, teasing his finger on the top of my g-string. I pulled back, biting my lip as I stared into his eyes. He began to breathe heavy as he slid his hand down, slipping a finger inside me. I threw my head back and he kissed my neck roughly. He bit it lightly before moving to my earlobe, whispering in my ear. "I can't wait for later."

I was changing into one of Heath's t-shirts as he was taking off his. Gabbie was out in the living room with Zane still and I smiled to myself, hearing them laugh together at something. I took my hair bow and bun out, letting my hair fall loosely all around me. As I got into bed, I felt Heath close behind me. I smiled, feeling him immediately lay on top of me.
I began to play with his hair, twirling the back of hair around my fingers. I kissed the top of his head as he wrapped his arms around me tighter. He spoke into my stomach before tilting his head mid sentence. "I can't believe all this shit that's happening around us."
"I know." I sighed, seeing Heath's head rise and fall with my stomach.
"You think everything is going to be okay?" Heath asked.
I was caught off guard with his question. "What!"
"You think... Do you think I'm in trouble?" I didn't say anything, not knowing what he was trying to say. He looked up at me with tears in his eyes. "I know that he was a monster, but... Did I kill him?"
"In what world is his death your fault?"
I sat up. Heath sat up too, sitting on his knees. "It was my gun. I know what he did and I know that if he was standing here right now, I would have shot him myself, but..."
Heath trailed off and I spread my legs, motioning for him to come towards me. He scooched over and fell on his side, knees to his chest, as I hugged him tightly. I brushed hair from his face and kissed the top of his head, smiling. "You didn't do shit. The cops didn't even... What happened happened for a reason."
"You think they did it, don't you?" Heath looked up at me. I didn't say anything and he moved away, looking at me as he balanced himself by leaning on my thighs. "You think they shot him for no reason, don't you?"
"I..." I shook my head. "I don't know what I think right now. I just know that out of everyone, you are the last person I would say is guilty."

It was the day of our court appearance. My heart had been in my throat all day and it only got worse once we arrived at the courtroom. We were all asked to arrive separately so upon arrival, I saw that everyone was already parked in the parking lot.
I got off the phone with my grandparents who wished me luck and I was leaving my car when I stopped in my tracks. I saw who I believed to be Ashlene's parents walking with a crowd of paparazzi around them. I shook my head in disbelief at the audacity to shove a camera into the grieving faces of her parents.
I bit my lip, knowing I was next. And although it sounded selfish, I was concerned with them coming for me. I walked towards the opening of the parking lot to walk onto the street and up the court house stairs. Before I could take a second breathe, that crowd turned onto me. I froze, being screamed at in every direction.
"Did Nathan really kidnap you?"
"Do you believe this is a case of racial inequality?"
"How long were you together with Nathan?"
I felt a pair of hands wrapped around me and I looked over, seeing my lawyer push back the paparazzi. We began to make it up the steps when I heard one male yell. "Are you sure this isn't for publicity?"
I turned on my heel, feeling my lawyer try to yank me back. "Who in their right mind would want this kind of attention?"
