Jughead and you had been best friend since you could remember. You could remember taking him on your family retreats, him taking you on 'adventure' days with his family, you being there for him when he came out as asexual, him being there when you and your boyfriend broke up. You two have been inseparable since you meant and you wouldn't have it any other way.

Despite being the very best of friends; you two rarely shared classes with each other. .You just figured they couldn't take the two of you in class together. But that also left you pretty vulnerable. It's was sad to say but because you even stood near the resident 'sketchy emo loner' you were also set in that small group. With Jughead around it wasn't so bad cause you had him but when he wasn't, the ridicule was almost unbearable.

There was usually just one person behind it all; Reggie Mantle. The Big headed jock that seemed to have it out for Jughead and you. You just usually ducked you head and kept moving but sometimes Reggie just didn't want to give up and things got physical.

"Why are you ignoring me, Y/N!" He shouted before pushing you towards the metal lockers; effectively causing a large crash noise and stopping everyone in a ten feet radius. "You gotta get back to your serial killer boyfriend?" He all but growled out, getting real close to your face. "Is he out killing Andrews? I didn't see him in any classes. I guess their blood back over Jason Blossom's death didn't work out!" He barked out. You didn't know why but you couldn't even find the words to fight back; you just stared wide eyed at the dark haired enemy.

"I knew it. How could you ever be friends with that freak? You wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't for him." He said, getting even closer to your neck. "Hey! What are you doing!" You heard as the weight of Reggie flew off of you. Of course you're savior was your best friend: Jughead. You smiled happily at his face until Reggie pushed him. "Y/N and I were just taking, Necro! Why don't you mind your business." Reggie replied back with a hiss. You couldn't see Jug's face but you knew he was rolling his eyes. "It's obvious that Y/N did not want to talk to you, Reggie. Leave them alone."  Jug sighed out, turning towards you then with an open hand.

You didn't even get to take it as Reggie pushed Jughead away, glaring at the male loner. "Why don't you just go; I believe Y/N has a voice and they haven't told me to leave them alone." Reggie said as he crossed her arms over his chest. Jughead sighed, mumbling: "You know; I didn't want to have to do this." next thing you knew Jughead had thrown a punch at Reggie. It actually connecting but probably wasn't as strong at Jug had thought it would be because he looked at you with wide-eyes cause Reggie hadn't fallen to the ground.

"You are so dead Jughead Jones!" Reggie shouted; starting for your best. You acted quick, grabbing Jug's wrist and pulling him after you and running for your guy's life. Jughead and you knew very well this was a fight that neither of you could win. You two weren't exactly physical people after all.

It had amazed both of you, but you were actually able to run away from the angry jock; well considering you ran straight out of school probably helped. The two of you ended up at Pop's; out of breath but safe until tomorrow. "Why did you do that. I mean it was so cool, but Jug that was really stupid. You've never even been in a fight before!" you scolded, waving your hands dramatically.

Jughead just shook his head, smiling softly at your antics. "He was bothering you, Y/N, You're my best friend and I couldn't let him do that to it." He said, hoping that would calm you down; which it did...a little. "It was still really stupid." You mumbled out, sinking into the booths seat. He laughed, smiling brightly. "Fine; I'll make it up to you by ordering you a shake and a burger." You could only smile at him; he just knew you all too well.
