Real Life

The next few months passed peacefully for Ian and Anya. Ian wrapped up filming season 5 of The Vampire Diaries and was now home enjoying his break with his lovely girlfriend. With the help of Nina and Nikki, Ian managed to find the perfect ring for Anya. One that he felt suited her best. He spent his time writing speech after speech, practicing it on Nina, Paul, basically anyone who would sit and listen. All of whom, agreed that he was ready. Ready to ask Anya to be his wife.

He had the whole night planned out. Romantic dinner in their spot on the end the of the property. His speech was almost perfect. He was in their room practicing while Anya was out grocery shopping.....or so he thought.

Anya got home earlier than expected, realizing she forgot her money at home on her dresser.

"Ian?!" She calls out walking through the front door, only the receive no response.

As Anya walks up the stairs towards their room she can hear Ian's muffled voice.

"I'd be lost without you. I love you more and more everyday. I'm so in love with you I can't bear to spend another minute without you by my side p-"

Hearing enough Anya pushed the door open to see Ian talking to- nobody?

"Who were you talking to?" She questions.

"What do you mean who am I talking to, I'm talking to you!" He stutters.

"No, before I came in. Who were you talking to Ian?" She asks.

"I was talking to myself." He tries to cover.

"Yourself huh? You were telling yourself how you can't bear to spend another minute without you?" She asks sarcastically.

He laughs shakily "W-well.....I-I just..."

"Ian just tell me the truth! You've been acting weird these last few weeks and I want to know why!" She yells.

"Can we wait to have this conversation until tonight?" He pleads, this wasn't a part of his plan. A plan he spent months getting ready.

"No! We're having this conversation now! What is going on with you?" She exclaims.

"Ok fine," he sighs pulling her out onto their balcony. "Here is good."

"Ian what is going on? You're scaring me" she whispers.

Ian notices his thoughts leave him, his hands grew sweaty, the small box in his pocket now weighs a ton.

"God, I had this whole speech ready and now that we're here I can't remember any of it" he says desperately trying to remember even the smallest bit of his words.

"Ian, sweetheart, whatever it is, just tell me. Please." She begs eyes welling up with uncertain tears.

"Ok here it goes. I remember the first time I saw you Ana. We were halfway through shooting season one of The Vampire Diaries and you came to visit Nina on set. You were so in awe of the set, the props, the clothes, but I was so in awe of you. I had never seen someone so beautiful before. You had my heart from the very moment I laid eyes on you." He says with the purest love in his eyes that she had ever seen.
