Whatcha Say?

Yuy caught up with me after second period.

"So?" she asked grabbing my arm. "Do you agree?" 

I felt like slapping her. My arm was already hurting after Hideki nearly tore it off. Was Yuy after my arm too?

I smile. "You never told me how this plan works."

Yuy slaps her forehead. "Sorry. We can all think of one in the Art room at lunch, yeah?"

No.

"As long as it doesn't involve blowing Denis up." I joked, after attemtping to shut my locker door, which had been broken from Day One.

"What if it involves blowing Hideki up?" Yuy asks.

I stared at her in shock. I would've laughed if I wasn't so shocked.

Yuy's face breaks into a smile. "Just kidding!" she smiles.

I hoped she was.

At lunch, I quickly headed for the cafeteria, but I overheard some girls talking.

It is very wrong to eavesdrop, because you might hear something you didn't want to, but I had an awful feeling that they were talking about me. The girls were talking in the middle of the hallway, but no one else was there, everyone else was in the cafeteria.

I had a sudden urge to walk away immeadiately.

"Did you see the new girl, Adriana?" One of them asks.

Now I knew for a fact that they were talking about me.

The other girl nods and then says, "Isn't she pretty, Dani?"

I wasn't sure about that.

Was I pretty?

I didn't know.

Sometimes when I looked in the mirror I was pretty happy.

Other times when I looked in the mirror, I felt like crying.

I started jotting down notes in my head, of their names.

Dani and Adriana.

Cool names.

Then I hear another voice. It's a little bit quieter than Dani or Adriana but I can hear it.

"I think," the voice says. "That new girls name is (your name)."

Dani and Adriana turn their heads, not knowing who spoke. 

"She was with Denis yesterday." goes on the voice.

I edge a little closer to them from behind the lockers.

"Do you think Dingo will ask her on a date?" Dani asks the quiet girl. 

"I hope so!" Adriana says smiling. "They looked so cute together on the beach!"

"Speaking of couples," says the quiet girl. "I heard Branden and Natasha are going out."

"Are you sure Tabitha?" asks Adriana.

Tabitha. That was the name of the shy girl.

Tabitha nods. "I wonder what that new girl thinks of our school." Dani says, thinking out loud.

I thought it was absolutely crazy. 

So much had happened in the past two days. And even though it felt like it was Hideki's fault, she was only trying to protect Denis.

Then a hand grabs my shoulder, making me gasp in shock.

"(Your name)! You weren't at the Art room.." Yuy looks at me with her grey eyes. "What's up."

I glanced across the hallway and saw that the girls had stopped talking and were staring at me.

"Hi, (your name)," says Adriana shyly. "You seem nice..."

I smiled.

"Are you still going along with the plan?" Yuy asks, looking desperate. 

"Wait.." Tabitha says clearly  confused. "What plan?"

"We're plotting to stop Hideki talking to Denis. Will you guys help us?" explains Yuy..

"Sure!" exclaims Dani. The other two nod enthusiastically.

I didn't know if this plan was such a good idea.

"So..." says Yuy hopefully turning to me. "Are you still going along with the plan? Whatcha say?"

I thought about how Hideki frightened poor Tash and was clingy to Denis. She was so mean to some people in class yesterday.

I thought of her with Denis, and I growled with rage.

"Yeah." I say firmly. "Let's do it!"

And then the bell rang, causing everyone to clutter up the hallway, and get to class.
