Even if it sounded weird, and quite ironic, Everest, the snow rescue pup of the PAW patrol, who even used to live in the rough tundra of the South Pole caught a puppy cold. How? She doesn't want to tell.
Much for her luck, she had a medical pup as her boyfriend.
"I still don't get it. I mean, you used to live in the coldest place in the world, how can you even get sick?" Marshall said, taking off the thermostat he put a few minutes ago on Everest's mouth. And there was said pup, wrapped in a cocoon of blankets that covered all her shaky body with exception of her face.
A sneeze escaped from her as she cleared her throat. "I don't want to talk about it." She spoke, resting her weight on the beanbag that she was sitting on.
Everest could only see the worried face of her boyfriend from her spot. Marshall sighed as he shook the tool and it quickly returned to his pup pack.
He shook his head. "This is worst than I though. If you don't get better for tonight we probably should cancel our dinner-"
"Don't even think about it." She scolded. "I'll get better, I'll make sure of that."
It was something that they were planning for weeks. Since Marshall was required in more and more missions, most of them rescuing the Mayor's chicken, which was quite frustrating, they got no time to spend together. Of course they hang out more often since they're a couple, but they hadn't had a special night just for them in a long time.
Trying to dissipate the sad mood in the room, Marshall nuzzled her cheek which made Everest smile.
"Well, I guess I can help you with it." He said, planting kisses all over her face which made her giggle.
"I guess you can, Dr. Marshall." Just when she was going to kiss him back (but not in the cheek), they heard an annoying noise.
"Pu...ps, t-o the Look...ou-t" they barely heard Ryder calling the team, followed by static.
"Is that pup tag still broken?" Everest said covering her ears.
"Yeah, Ryder still doesn't know that I broke it." He spoke, trying to turn off the broken tag on his chest. When he finally got to shut it, both sighed in relieve.
"Well, I guess you're leaving now..." Everest muttered.
"Yeah, I guess..." He said, making small circles with his paw. "Uhm, I better get going." He shouted, already running towards the elevator.
Everest just sighed looking at the floor, but then all of a sudden she felt warm in her lips. Her face heated up in a second when she looked at Marshall's eyes staring directly.
"Did you think I was going to leave without that kiss?" he whispered, smiling at her. She returned the kiss.
"Come back soon." She smiled, placing a paw on his cheek.
"I will." And with that, he ran to the elevator again, leaving his giggling girlfriend with sweet thoughts.

It was already 5 o'clock and been 4 hours since Marshall leaved Everest in the Lookout. Missions don't take that long, she was getting worried.
"He's late." She thought. "I better call him." She unfolded herself off the blankets and pressed her pup tag, waiting for an answer.
"Hello? Marshall?" She called, but just heard static. When she finally got an answer, or so, she perked her ears to hear well. But instead she heard a conversation between Ryder and Marshall.
Well, barely heard.
"How- is she...?"
"She's pretty... *static* ... I better check her...*static* ...now-"
"For a Border collie... *static* ... big deal... make sure she is ok."
"Sure... *static* I'll take her to Mr. Porters... *static* closest place here ... so she could be comfortable."
End of the call.
Maybe because of her sickness, or because of that broken tag of Marshall, her mind twisted their words and her understanding. She remained silent for a moment; even if she didn't hear well the call, something was in her mind.
"Pretty... Border... Collie..." She repeated a couple of times. "Check on a pretty Border Collie?! You're dead, Marshall!" She shouted out loud. The birds close to the Lookout flew off their nests, her voice echoed through the entire building, waking up Zuma from his nap, making Skye miss a flip on Pup Pup Boogie and making Rocky throw a tool inside the truck he was fixing.
"Dude? What the heck?" Zuma complained. His answer was the sound of an engine staring and the sight of Everest's snowplow driving full speed downtown.
She hit the gas with all her strength and made her way to Mr. Porters to confront her boyfriend. When she arrived, she directly went to the living room where he was.
"Marshall!" Everest shouted when she saw him and a Border collie with green eyes and black and white fur; she also noticed that her paw was covered by some bandages. This made her think for a moment; she calmed down a little when he spoke.
"Everest? What are you doing here?" Marshall asked, not sure of what was going on.
"I was wondering why my boyfriend was delaying so long." Everest said making sure that the collie heard her. "Who's your friend?" Marshall was going to answer, but said pup stopped him.
"Hi, I'm Michelle. Is nice to meet you...Uhmm..."
"Everest. Marshall's girlfriend." Everest said.
"Right. Well, the PAW Patrol went to rescue me when my paw got stuck in the bushes, but the branches held it strong enough to dislocate it, so Marshall is checking that is not getting worse."
"Oh, sorry to hear that. I hope you get better." Everest said with an almost undetectable sarcasm, but not for Marshall, who was looking at her, trying to contain his laughs.
"Oh, thanks." Michelle said with a smile in her face.
"Well, I won't be interrupting you to any more. I have to rest I guess-" But suddenly, she felt something that she felt not long ago, something that got her by surprise the first time, and even now.
Warm in her lips and her face heating up.
"You look pretty when you're jealous." Marshall whispered in her ear.
"Oh, now 'I' look pretty?" Everest whispered too, trying to be mad, but she couldn't.
"As always." He said, making her giggle.
"Dumb." She replied, licking his cheek. Marshall took one step back to see her well.
"Looks like you're fully recovered." He spoke. Everest looked confused for a moment, then she realized what he was referring to. Her throat was clear, her nose wasn't bothering her and she didn't feel cold anymore.
"And only for him..." she chuckled in her mind.
"Hey, do you still want to go to dinner tonight?" He tilted his head, she couldn't resist but run and hug him.
"Yes, I would love to." She said, lightening the embrace .
"Ow, you look so cute together." Michelle said glancing at them. Marshall didn't care about it, but Everest looked up with an evil grin which made the Border Collie shake a little for fear. Something was still in Everest's mind.
"He's mine, bitch."
