Aye y'all, this one's for PrincessFaith04 ! Sorry it took so long. But I hope you like it. Tell me what you think (:
-Faith's POV-
"Kelly, seriously. I do not want you to buy me more clothes. I already have enough,"I groaned as my best friend pulled me into another store.
"Look Faith. I wanna treat my best friend, okay? Stop complaining and let me buy you this jacket,"he replied, pulling a jacket toward my face.
My eyes landed on the price tag and I immediately walked out of the store. Kelly followed behind me. "You are ridiculous if you think I'm gonna let you buy me that,"I shook my head.
Kelly laughed and put his arm around my shoulder. "This why I love you,"he chuckled, kissing the top of my head. I grinned up at him.
"Kelly Oubre Jr., is that you?"I heard a girl shriek.
We turned around to see who was calling him. This girl with way too much makeup on and practically no clothes was walking over.
"Aye Melissa,"Kelly greeted. I furrowed my eyebrows. Why does Kelly know this girl? She looks too plastic...
Melissa acted like I wasn't even there. She hugged Kelly, letting out a laugh which was more like a cackle. I had to try my hardest not to roll my eyes.
Kelly explained to me,"This is my friend from Kansas. We had a bunch of classes together, and we had some damn good times partying." He rubbed the back of his neck, chuckling to himself.
I gave him a fake smile. "Nice to meet you, Melissa."
She just scoffed and started talking to Kelly. They talked for like 10 minutes, while I awkwardly stood there.
Finally I just said,"Kelly, I'm going home. Come over whenever you're done catching up with her." Kelly didn't even argue. He handed me his keys and let me go.
I waited all evening for Kelly to come over, but he didn't. We were supposed to have a sleepover, but I guess that isn't happening.
-3 Days Later-
"Aye, it's your boy Kelly. Leave a message and I'll get back to you."
I tapped my nails on the table in frustration. Kelly has been leaving me for Melissa for the past few days, and it's really starting to bother me. He's supposed to be my best friend, not this hoe's.
Tonight was supposed to be our little movie night, but he didn't even show up.
I sighed, grabbing the remote. Guess I'll watch movies on my own.
As I was in the middle of watching Coach Carter, the doorbell rang. I pushed my blanket to the side and stood up.
I walked to the door and opened it. It was Kelly.
He gave me an uneasy smile. "I'm so sorry I'm late. I was hanging out with-"
"Melissa, I know,"I interrupted.
"What's up? Why you mad?"Kelly questioned.
"Oh, I don't know. Maybe because you're leaving your best friend for a slut." I gave him a fake smile before walking back to the couch and sitting down.
I wrapped the blanket around my shoulders as Kelly asked,"What're you going on about, Faith? Ain't nobody leaving you."
I looked up at him. "You know what, I don't wanna fight right now. Just go back to your little date with Melissa. You've already been ditching me for the past 3 days, so you won't care."
"Date? What, no! Melissa's just a friend. Just like how you're a friend,"he tried to explain.
I stood up. "Why are you comparing me to a hoe who only likes you for your money? She only wants you because you're rich!"I exclaimed.
Kelly's face changed. He looked mad. "Melissa is my friend. You cannot say this stuff about her,"he said.
I just rolled my eyes and replied,"Well, if you love her so much, maybe you should go to her. Why waste your time with me?"
"Maybe I will. At least she doesn't accuse others of being gold diggers."
I let out a bitter laugh. "Okay Kelly. Go then."
He rolled his eyes and left, slamming the door behind him.
I sat on the couch, pulling my blanket towards me. It was the only thing that provided comfort to me at the moment. Nothing else could.
-The Next Day-
I got back from work and plopped down on the couch. Letting out a loud sigh, I pulled my hair up into a ponytail.
Today was a terrible day. Working in retail is so bad. Customers are always rude. And this just piled onto the Kelly thing. All I wanted to do was sleep.
There was a knock at the door, but I was too lazy to get it. Probably some guy trying to sell random shit to me. But who goes around doing that at night?
The knocking persisted, so I went and opened the door. I think you can tell who it was.
I took a deep breath and started shutting the door in his face. Kelly quickly stuck his hand out. His strength overpowered mine, so I gave up and let him talk.
"Faith, give me a minute. Please. I'm begging you."
I sighed, my good side taking over. "Okay, you have one minute."
Kelly immediately started speaking really fast. "Okay, so I am so sorry I was being an asshole and accusing you of being jealous. I'm sorry. I should never say that about my best friend. You were just looking out for me and I didn't understand that. Please don't be mad. I really love you, Faith."
I cut him off. "Wait, you love me?"I asked, my eyes wide.
He whispered,"Uh yeah, of course."
"Like a sister..?"I trailed.
Kelly took a deep breath and shook his head. "No, Faith. I've had a crush on you for the longest time. But you always friend zoned me. I didn't know what to do,"he admitted.
My eyes widened even more. "I thought you friend zoned me!"I exclaimed.
Kelly looked confused. "Wait, what?"
I just smiled and kissed him. When I pulled away, I said,"I love you too."
