"Uuuuuuuuhhhhhhhhh," Tom tosses and turns in your shared bed. It's morning but you still have an hour before your alarm goes. "AHH-CHOO!"

Tom's sneeze causes you both to jolt up in the bed. "What was that?" you look concerned. You've known Tom for a few years and had been dating him for two but you've never seen him sick.

"I think," Tom's face becomes flushed, "I think I just sneezed. I haven't done that since I was a boy."

You glare at him. "Don't be ridiculous."

"It's true!" Tom defends himself. "I started taking care of myself so this particularity wouldn't ha- AHH-CHOOO!"

"Ugh," you roll your eyes. "Say it, don't spray it. And, please, use your arm to cover your nose."

"I have to call out of work," he begins to sound congested. "I don't want to be seen like this."

"Okay, well, I might as well get ready for work now that I'm up."

"Wait!" Tom cries before you reach the bathroom. "I'm helpless. Can you stay with me today?"

"Tom, you're a grown man. There's soup and tea downstairs and you should be spending most of the day sleeping. What do you need my help with?"

"I just do. Please." He pulls you in with his famous puppy eyes.

You sigh. "Fine. I guess I could use a day to lay around. Let me call my boss."

Seeing Tom sick, to put it nicely, was quite an experience. Every time he sneezed, a galaxy was formed due to the explosion. His coughs made him have the lungs of a heavy smoker. You had never seen a single person sweat that much; it made you want to get a kiddie pool and see if his body sweat filled it up.

Although you've been sharing a bed for nearly two years, he's never slept like this before. He takes up three-fourths of the bed, his mouth is open so wide you're tempted to see if I tennis ball will fit, and his eyes continuously twitch and flutter as if he's a dog having an intense dream. You now have many pictures of Tom that may come in handy one day.

"AHHH-CHEE!" A weird sneeze forces Tom awake. "This is terrible."

"You're telling me," you mumble. "I'm thinking about ordering you a bubble so you don't get any snot on me."

"That's not funny."

"I never said it was," you say blandly. "Since you're up, are you hungry? Your soup is in the microwave."

"Thank you, love. And thank you for your help today."

"No problem," you smile. "I would kiss you if your weren't contagious."

Tom chuckles then coughs. "That's okay. I know you love me."

"And I know you love me," you stroke his burning forehead and sweaty hair.
