Emmie POV:

It's nice to be back. Sure I liked New York City but this is my home. Yesterday Jacob and I went to the hospital and the doctor told me that my parents were in a coma in a result of a car crash. I really hope they get better because I don't want to lose the most important people in my life. Jacob offered for me to stay at his house.  I really don't want to because of all the stuff in our past but I don't have anywhere else to go. And since I'm only 13 I don't have enough money to stay at a hotel. Or even a motel for that matter. So at the moment I'm packing up some clothes to stay at his house. Suddenly I get a text.

Jacob: We're here Em, come out when you're ready

Emmie: Coming out

I grab my duffle bag and go out to the car.

"Hi Mrs. S" I wave to Jacob's mom

"Hi darling, you can your stuff in my trunk" She motions to the back of her car.

"Okay" I say and walk to the back of the car.  I put my bag in the trunk and walk to the back door and hop in.

"Where's Jacob?" I ask her.

"He wanted to get your room ready" She tells me. She leans back and grabs my hand "I am so sorry about your parents. You've had a rough life so far" She squeezes my hand.

"Thanks Mrs. S I just really want them to get better" I sigh. We don't talk much for the remained of the time. Then we pull into his house. So many memories flood back the parties, the broken hearts and so many friends.

I pull my bag out of the trunk and follow Jacob's mom upstairs. As I open the door Jacob embraces me.

"Em I'm so sorry about your parents" He tells me. I start to talk but my voice breaks. I start to cry into his shirt.

"Jacob it's so hard I feel like nothing goes right for me" I shudder. For a few minutes I bury my face in his chest but I collect myself. "I do have some good news" I smile.

"What?" He asks confused.

"I'm moving back, I'm starting school tomorrow"

"Really?" A smile spreads across his face and he lifts me up and laughs. "This is great Emmie!"

"Yea but I better sleep we have to be at the bus stop by 7:15" I tell him.

"You're right" He groans. Then my phone starts buzzing. I pick it up and answer it.

"Hello?" I ask.

"Hi Emmie, your parents are awake."
