CRISTIANO'S POV

Papa walked out of the kitchen leaving the rest of us a bit confused.

The Gonzalez family were one of the most powerful families in the Mexican mafia on the northern border of Mexico and spread their power even into some of the very south of New Mexico, Texas and some of Louisiana as well specializing in murders and money laundering not so much in drug exchange. Sicarios they called them.

Papa only ever called them for one of two things when he needed to take care of a pest that he had no time for or just for a game of poker and some drinks. The later was very rare and usually ended up being connected to the first.

"Cris is there something wrong," Rose asked me with a concerned look.

"Don't worry cara mia," I replied, "it's bad for the bambino." (my dear)

She just smiled hesitantly in return.

Mama and Gio began preparing breakfast together as they had been for years on the weekends. It was a sort of tradition at this point. The cooks would take the weekends off and we'd cook ourselves.

"Giovane chiamo tuo padre," Emilio said to me as he walked back in. ("Young sir your father is calling,")

"Grazie Emilio. I'll be over right away."

I walked over to Rose who was sitting at the table scrolling through something on the laptop.

"Cara mia I'll be right ba...more clothes Rose," I interrupted myself as I saw she was looking at baby clothes.

"They're on sale Cris besides Damien is going to be a baby not a teenager when he's born. They dirty a lot of clothes so it's not bad wanting to be prepared."

"Okay and by the way I honestly do...never mind I've got to go. Papa called me to go to him. I'll tell you later."

I gave her a kiss then leaned to kiss the baby bump I was excited would soon go away and my child would be in my arms.

"Torno in un attimo mio piccolo," I whispered to the bump softly and kissed it. (I'll be back in an instant my little one,)

I got up and walked out of the kitchen and made my way towards the study.

Jaime and Raquel Gonzalez.

I hadn't seen the Gonzalez clan since the day Rose and I had gotten married and to be honest I would've preferred a longer period of time to have passed between then and now.

I still remember how drunk Katia and Santiago, the two youngest of the Gonzalez family, had gotten and how much of a mess of things they made.

"Pray to God neither one is here," I said under my breath as I reached the doors of the study.

"Ah Cristiano, good timing," Papa said as I closed the door behind me.

"Sorry it took me a while Señor & Señora Gonzalez," I said as I greeted the heads of the family.
