This is for @BeagleXIX! Hope you enjoy!
Also, sorry for not updating in forever, I just recently got back from a two week long vacation, and I'll be leaving on Wednesday for another week long vacation!

Y/N's POV
You park your car in the same spot you've parked it for the last three years. Now, you're a senior and you rule the school. This year has started off great for you. You've become captain of the cheerleading team, you're the most popular girl in the school, you're class president, and everyone says you will be a shoe in for prom queen.
There's just one thing that's missing. A boyfriend.
Sure, it's not like you're even interested in dating since you and your boyfriend of two years broke up this summer, but still... You see all of these couples in the school hallways and can't help but feel jealous. Maybe you should get a boyfriend?
You wouldn't even have a problem getting a boyfriend if you wanted one. Every day there is always someone who ends up hitting on you, most recently being a foreign exchange student from Ireland. You must say, he's very good looking, but you can barely understand what he's saying because of his accent. Maybe it would still be worth a try?
No, you'll wait until you find someone that you can actually talk to.
You quickly check your hair before getting out of your car and walking into your school. You smile at various people who greet you as you walk to your locker, quickly stopping to chat with someone on your cheerleading team.
You open your locker and begin sorting through it, grabbing the books that you would need for your morning classes.
"Hey, babe." You hear an annoyingly familiar voice coming from the other side of your open locker. You let out an audible groan, closing your locker to be faced with your ex-boyfriend, Shane.
"How many time do I have to tell you? Don't call me babe. We broke up for a reason." You say angrily, beginning to walk away from Shane.
"How many times do I have to apologize to get you to forgive me, y/n?" He shouts after you. You stop walking and turn back to him. You notice how most people in the hallway are now looking at the two of you, but you don't care. You're used to this kind of attention.
"Maybe, you should have thought about that before you went and had sex with another girl WHILE WE WERE DATING." You yell at him and people around you start to murmur. There had always been speculation as to why the two of you had broke up, but no one knew the actual reason, not even your best friends.
The whispers suddenly all stop, and Shane's eyes widen. You slowly turn around to see your principal standing behind you. "Ms. L/N (Last/name), in my office, now." He says before turning around and walking away. You swallow deeply and give Shane a death glare before reluctantly following the principal to his office.
"That outburst was completely uncalled for." You principal says as soon as you walk in.
"I know." You respond, not knowing what else to say. You take a seat in the chair across from his desk.
"You certainly can't go away unpunished, even if you are sorry." You principal says and you take a deep breath, nodding your head. You close your eyes, waiting for the dreaded words. You knew he was going to either take away your cheerleading captaincy or your class presidency. Your senior year and reputation will be ruined.
"We have a new student coming here today and I would like you to be his guide around the school this week." The principal says, causing you to open your eyes as wide as they will go.
"But, sir, I can't! I have so many meetings this week, and not to even mention having cheerleading practice! I don't have enough time to show this new kid around the school." You try your best to change your principal's mind, but he isn't having any of it.
"No excuses, Ms. L/N. His name is Deji Olatunji and he will be arriving any minute now. He has the same schedule as you do. I was going to ask you to show him around even if you didn't get in trouble." You sigh and nod your head.
Not five minutes later, a boy you don't recognize walks into the principal's office. "Ah, Mr. Olatunji!" The principal says, standing up to shake the boy's hand. "Welcome, welcome. Well, here is your schedule. Ms. y/f/n (Your full name) will be showing you around today since you have the same schedule. Have a nice day."
You stand up and mumble a "Come on." to Deji before walking out of the principal's office. As you walk to your first class, you explain some things to him. "Listen, I'm only doing this so that I don't get in trouble. Don't think that we're friends, and if anyone asks who you are, say that you're my cousin."
Deji grabs your arm, causing you to stop walking. You turn to look at him. "Why? You don't even look like me at all, I mean... There's kind of a big difference in, um, skin color." Deji says, motioning between your arm and his arm.
You let out a slight laugh, rubbing the back of your neck. "Well, then you're my adopted cousin. Now, come n, or we'll be late." You say, but can't help walking away with a small smile on your face. Maybe this kid isn't too bad after all.
As yo leave your last class before lunch, you tell Deji to meet you at your locker so that you could go to lunch together. He happily agrees before heading off to his own locker. You put all of your books away, closing your locker and checking your phone for any notifications. Of course, you have tons of notifications, so you begin going through them and responding to texts you have received.
You hear someone get pushed against a locker, and you see some jocks pushing Deji up against a locker. You feel your heart drop. This is the thing you wish would never happen with Deji. Now, you either have to save your reputation and not help him, or risk losing your popularity by helping him.
You mind thinks back to the conversations you've had with him throughout the day, and you can help but start smiling at the thought of him. Maybe this is your answer to wanting a new boyfriend. You could definitely see yourself with him, and if you don't help him he'd never forgive you.
So, you bravely stand tall and walk over to the jocks, trying to come up with a plan to save him. There's only one thing you can think of, and though you'd rather not do it, it's the best shot you have.
You walk over to the jock leader, who is standing by watching this all happen. You go next to him and stand on your toes to whisper in his ear. "If you let him go, I'll meet you under the bleachers after school." You tell him, knowing that you would never actually meet him under the bleachers.
After a few seconds of looking at you, he orders the other jocks to let Deji go. As they walk away, you walk up to Deji and walk toward the cafeteria with him.
"Thanks for that. How will I ever repay you?" He asks you, and you smirk at him.
"I was thinking you could repay me by agreeing to go on a date with me."
