I entered the room at the church with Cindy and Lauren. I look in the mirror at my curly brown hair. I smile at my reflection in the mirror. I see Lauren move towards me in the mirror.
She touches my shoulder and whispers, "You look beautiful, Sis. This day is about you and the man waiting for you at the end of the aisle." She smiles. "Thank you for taking me in and making a crap year, better. I love you, Joy."
Hugging her. "I love you, too, Lauren." I look at Cindy. "I hope you will behave yourself with the McKellars."
She nods. "I will."
Looking to the left, I see my wedding dress hanging on the windowsill. It's a simple white dress with straps. I take the dress off the rack and pull it over my head.
Lauren and Cindy move toward me, and they help me put the dress on. They move the fabric down my body, smooth the dress, and then step away.
Cindy covers her mouth with her hands. She has tears in her eyes. "You look even more beautiful than you did the first time you married my brother."
A smile spreads across my face. "Thank you, Cindy."
She moves towards me and hugs me. "I'm glad that you're part of the family." Her mobile goes off, and she looks at me. "That's Blake. Can I check it?"
"Sure," she runs to her phone. "Did you spend the night with him?"
She looks up and her face turns red. She bites her bottom lip and then nods. "Blake knows what he's doing in the bedroom. I felt loved for the first time."
"So, it was love at first sight for you?"
She nods. "Blake asked me to go on tour with the band. He is touring around with Inferno."
Lauren looks at her. "I like that band." She begs. "Please, get me a ticket to the concert?"
Cindy looks at her phone and starts typing something on it. "I'm asking him if they are playing here or close by." The phone beeps, and she looks at it. "They're playing in Los Angeles in January. Blake put six tickets on hold for you."
Lauren looks at me. "Can we go?"
"I've never been to a concert before. I'm looking forward to attending a concert with Jensen and you."
A knock on the door, and Mr McKellar enters the room. He looks at me. "Are you ready to marry my son again, Joy?"
Yes, I am. This time it's on my terms and not forced upon me.
Moving over to him, I place my arm around his. "Yes, I am, Mr McKellar. I want to thank you for walking me down the aisle."
He smiles. "I wouldn't have it any other way. You've been family to us since you married Jensen at The Annual Hamilton Party."
Lauren and Cindy exit the room first. They walk down the hall, and the door to the church opens for them. The music from the church reaches my ears as I stop close to the door.
My hands start to shake, and I feel them begin to sweat.
Mr McKellar touches my hand. "Joy, it's alright to be nervous. Just remember, Jensen is waiting for you with the priest." He smiles, and it reaches his eyes. "My father did a good thing when he chose you to marry my son. I'm proud to welcome you into the family again, but on your terms and not the doing of some contract drawn up." He hugs me.
The door opens. Mr McKellar and I walk into the room. I see rows of chairs with people sitting on them. I look at the man standing next to the priest. Jensen's eyes look watery.
