Brooke's POV
"Hey Jake." Patrick says as we walk into a quiet bar. There are not a lot of people there, only about four or five. I would've thought a bar would have more people in it at seven in the evening, but not this bar.
"Hey Patrick." The bartender says with a smile. "What would you like?"
"I'll take a beer." Patrick says then looks down at me to see what I want.
I haven't had a drink of alcohol since Hannah's wedding, at the beginning of this year. I've almost forgotten what it tastes like, but for some reason I don't want to know, I don't want to remember the tastes of when things were normal, because, right now, nothing is normal, and nothing is right.
"I'll stick with water for now." I say with a smile as we sit down at the counter. The bartender smiles and gets our drinks. Good thing we walked here, because I'm pretty sure Patrick wouldn't want me to drive his car home.
"You don't drink?" Patrick asks looks at me, leaning his elbow on the counter.
"No, I do, I just don't feel like having a beer right now." I say crossing my arms and placing them on the counter.
"Here you go." Jake says placing the beer and water on the counter in front of us. Jake is an older guy, probably in his late fifty's, with white hair and a white beard.
"Thank you." I say, picking up the water and taking a big gulp. "This is a nice a bar, better than the one in Texas."
"Yeah, I like it here. It's quiet, and no one recognizes me, or if they do they don't say anything." He chuckles, taking a drink in between sentences, "It's nice when to get a little quiet time."
"Yeah, I can see why." I say looking around and observing my surroundings. There are several pool tables to the right of the counter, and multiple TV screens on each wall. There is a couch on the wall opposite of the counter. There is a fooz-ball table towards the middle of the room that attracts my attention. "Do you want to play fooz-ball?"
"Um, sure." He says taking another drink of his beer then gets up as I follow him over to the fooz-ball table.
"I'll beat you." I say reseting the score on both sides.
"We'll see about that." He says with a smile as he grabs the fooz-ball out of the goal, and places in the slide on the side of the wall that enters it into the fooz-ball arena. After hitting it several times, the ball shoots into my goal and I get a point. "That was luck."
"Yeah, sure." I say with a smile as he grabs the ball out of the goal, and places in the slide on the side of the wall that enters it into the fooz-ball arena. We continue playing until I wil, 10-7.
"You're good." Patrick says with a smile as he sets his beer down on the fooz-ball table.
"Yeah, I guess. I've learned over the past couple of years." I say as we sit back down at the counter. I was referring to when I would go into the bars and play fooz-ball against the other guys. But for the most part, I'd only win because they were drunk.
"Yeah, it's been a while since I've played." He says looking at me with a smile as I look at him, mesmerized by his bright twinkling blue eyes.
"Do you wanna play a game?" I ask trying to break up the silence, so that it is not so awkward.
"Sure." He says after clearing his throat.
"Two truths, and one lie." I say with a smile as he begins to laugh.
"Okay, who starts?" He asks.
"I'll start." I pause trying to think of two truths and a lie about me to see if he can guess which is the lie, "Number one, I use to do motocross and I won first place, almost every race. Number two, I only have broken two bones in my life. And number three, I've owned a total of forty animals in my life."
"Oh, man." He pauses scratching his chin trying to think which one of my facts was a lie. "I think, that number, three, is the lie."
"Nope," I say with a laugh, "Number two, I've broken a total of five bones, from motocross, I got in an accident and it ruined my career, but I did bring home trophies and ribbons, every time I raced, most of which were first place. And yes, because I live in Texas, after living in New York, we bought a farm in Texas and raised all sorts of animals."
"That's really cool." He nods,"My turn?"
"Yep!" I say with a smile.
"Okay, I got it, before I became an actor, and a race car driver, I worked at Jack in the Box. When I was eight, I was riding my dog around the house, fell off, and hit my head, that's how I got this scar," He pauses pointing to a scar towards the middle of his forhead, "And I first started racing when I was eighteen."
"I think," I pause thinking about all three of his answers, "I think that the first one was the lie."
"You're good." He says with a smile taking another drink of his beer. "Before I became and actor I worked at a grocery store."
"Is this seat taken?" I hear a man behind me ask. I assume he is talk about the seat to my left because the seat to my right is occupied by Patrick. I quickly turn around to see who it is. It's Justin, Justin Chambers, he will be playing Alex in Grey's Anatomy.
"No, I guess not." I say hesitantly, not really wanting him here. To be honest, I don't like him, if he plans on sleeping with me in a closet, or at all, then he'd better change his plans, or I'll change them for him.
"I'll get a beer in the bottle." Justin says as I look at Patrick with anger as he looks at me with a questionable look as to why he would be here. "So, how are you?"
"Good." I say with a fake laugh as I nod my head and drink more of my water.
"I'm sorry we had to meet that way." He says. I can only assume that he means that I caught him on the flour, naked with Amanda.
"It's fine, let's not talk about that." I say in a calm voice hoping he will shut up.
"I just don't want that to be the way you see me, that's all." He says.
"Yeah, well, it will be." I say stand up from the chair.
"What's up with her?" I hear Justin say as I make my way towards the couch.
"I don't know, but you really pissed her off." Patrick says as I take a seat on the couch that over looks the bar and sits in front of the TVs.
