Chapter 18

When i woke up, i had a terrible headache, that's so not good, specially in the day when i'm going to meet Nicole, what did she want from me anyway?

I skipped school yesterday cause i wasn't feeling well, i wore my clothes and headed to the kitchen, i had taken aspirin to lessen the pain and i really hope it works. When i entered the kitchen i found jake standing in front of the fridge searching for something.

I completely avoided him, i made myself a sandwich, took my car keys and headed outside. I unlocked my car and got into the driver's seat, just as i was about to drive away i saw Jake rushing out of the house and heading towards me "Can i go with you?" He asked.

"You have your car" i replied coldly.

"I know but i want to go with you" he said.

"Get in" i replied not once looking at him and he obeyed.

"So, umm, do you know what's today?" he asked, fidgeting with his t-shirt, why is he nervous?

"Wednesday?" i looked at him and he frowned. "What?"

"No, i meant what is today? what happened today" he tried to explain, i know very well what is he talking  about but i'm pretending that i've forgotten that it's his birthday today cause we wanna prepare a surprise  party for him, yes we fought yesterday but he's still my brother.

"Umm no i don't know what's today" i said and a flash of hurt flickered on his face.

"You really don't know what's today?" he asked as i started the engine.

"No, i don't"

"Are you saying this because of what happened yesterday?" he asked.

"No i'm not"

"Oh, Okay then" he said, and looked away, i knew he was hurt because he thought that i don't remember his birthday but a surprise is a surprise and i can't ruin his surprise.

20 minutes later, we arrived at school, Jake quickly got out and i did the same, making sure to lock the car behind me. When i turned around i bumped into someone and was immediately engulfed in a tight hug.

"Hey baby" Alex said and i smiled, looking up at him.

"Heyyy" i replied wrapping my arms around his neck and returned the hug.

"You're still not talking to him?" He asked, glancing at Jake.

"Yes, he thinks i forgot about his birthday, and besides not talking to him, it will be good for tonight" i said "Keep him busy till we prepare everything"

"Yes ma'am" he saluted which caused me to chuckle.

I nearly fell when someone jumped on my back "Chloeeee" Of course it's zVictoria! Who else would jump on my back and squeal like that.

"Hey Victoria" I started calmly "Get off me before i kill you!!!" I warned in a low threatening voice. She gulped and got off me since she was on top of me.

"Good" i stood up and adjusted my clothes.

"I can't wait till we start the party!!!" Victoria squealed again which caused Jake's head to snap at our direction.

Damn it Victoria!!! I mentally face-palmed myself.

"What party are you talking about?!" Jake asked.

"It's a party that we- mmphmmm" i immediately put my hand on her mouth to stop her from saying more and ruining the surprise.

"It's nothing! She .... just watched a movie about ... parties.. Yeah parties! and she's been imagining parties since then" i tried to come up with the best lie but damn it for stuttering!!

"Um okay" jake said slowly, not convinced by what i just told him. "So i guess i'll go now then, bye" he said and went to the direction of his class. I let Victoria go and shot her the deadliest glare.

"What?!"

"You know what!! You were about to ruin the surprise!!!"

"Surprise???" Her eyes widened which confused me, she was the first one who knew about it!! Then her jaw dropped as soon as realization hit her "That surprise...Sorry"

-Later at night after everyone prepared everything for the party-

Alex had already taken Jake out to the club till we finish preparing everything, when we were done, i texted him letting him know that we're done, he texted me back almost immediately that he's on his way back so currently we were all hiding at different places, it wasn't a big party that had hundreds of people. There was only me, Victoria, Alex and some of his friends, Jake and some of his friends. He could invite more if he wanted a bigger party.

5 minutes later and we heard the door open, once the light were on, we all jumped from our places screaming "SURPRISE!!!" Everyone went rushing to Jake to hug him, i waited for them to be done and when i was the last one standing there, i went to him, he looked confused. Well who would blame him?!

"Happy Birthday" i said, a grin making it's way to my face

"Wait, you planned this?!" He asked as his eyes widened.

"Well yeah, with the help of Victoria too" i said and he grinned.

"Means you forgave me?" He asked, hope filling his voice.

"Yes" just as the word came out of my mouth, he pulled me in a bone-crushing hug which i gladly returned.

"So you didn't talk to me on purpose in the car! I knew you didn't forget my birthday!!" He exclaimed happily but then we heard someone clears his throat from behind us, we turned to see dad with 2 suitcases in his hand. I frowned and looked at him.

"What's that?!" I asked.

"I'm sorry baby but i got a call from work and they need me to go to Australia for 3 months" he said and my heart dropped.

"3 months????" I asked and he replied with a nod.

3 bloody months!!

"But dad you were never gone that long!! Can't you persuade them in lessening the time??" I asked, hope filling my voice and i do hope they lessen the time but...

"No honey, i can't, take care of yourself" i looked beside me to see a frozen Jake, a blank expression on his face.

"You're leaving?"

"Yes Jake"

"For 3 months" jake said in a low voice.

"It'll pass fast, you won't even feel my absence" dad put his suitcases on the floor to hug Jake. "Have fun" he said and went.

This is the worst chapter on wattpad but sorryyyyyy.

i didn't know what to write, i forgot everything i wanted to write so, this is what happened.
