Chapter 25- No Second Chance

*Reyna's POV*
The look of hopelessness in his eyes wanted my tough exterior to melt but I knew it wasn't worth it. He never trusted me so what was the point of being in a relationship?

"Reyna, he's gone." Annabeth said snapping me out of my thoughts.

"Yea" I replied.

"You should forgive him you know." Annabeth said.

"How can you say that after all that he has done? He broke everything within me Annabeth. His words wounded my heart and those wounds will never heal. I still love him but I can't can't trust him with my heart anymore because I'm scared that it will break."

"Trust me I know. But you have to remember love is pain too. It is difficult but you have to give in everything. Just like a plant love needs everything you have to grow. It is a risk you have to take." With that she left.

Did I really love Nico? Or did I haste into a relationship with him? But one thing is true. Nico hurt the most.

Why did I be so foolish and even think about love? Love isn't ment for girls like me..... Wait, where is Tyler?! How could I forget about him?! I was about get up when a voice stopped me.

"Not happening Reyna. Get in bed!" Percy yelled entering my room.

"But Percy Tyler---"

"Tyler is safe and sound. He is no spy and is clear. I'm personally traning him because he is too powerful. He doesn't know it though." Percy said.

"What about the mark?" I asked.

"We don't know yet. We are trying to find out but it will take time."

"Are the war preparations okay?"

"You worry too much madam all is fine and under control. Once you are okay we shall leave for an attack."

"Percy one last thing, please tell Tyler to come visit me."

"Aye aye captain!" He saluted causing me to giggle.

After some time there was a knock at the door and I thought it was Tyler. I answered with a come in but it actually was Clarisse. What was she doing here? I didn't even know her properly actually.

"Hi" She said.

"Hi" I smiled.

"Actually I came to see if you were okay. I also wanted to ask something though."

"What is it Clarisse?"

"Are--- I mean--- you and Tyler---umm...Dating?" She asked blushing.

"Nope!"

"Oh gods thanks!!" She said enveloping me on a bone crushing hug.

"You like him don't you?" U asked and the blushed again nodding.

"I just wanted to make sure you both weren't a thing." She said.

"No, not at all! Green signal, go get him girl!" With that, she left.

Then finally Tyler decided to show up. He looked a bit conflicted though. He sat in the chair beside me and I smiled at him. He didn't smile back. His face showed lines of worry. I must say his bad boy act had melted away

"You okay?" I asked.

"See Reyna I appreciate the fact that you stood with me in the difficult times but we shouldn't take anymore. It will be better."

"And why is that?"

"The one time you helped me, it got you here. You were my first friend Reyna and I don't want to see you hurt because of me." He said politely.

"That's really sweet of you! But Tyler it wasn't your fault! So I'm not gonna stop talking to you. If people have trust issues its their problem and I can't stop taking to a friend." I said smiling.

"Okay" He smiled genuinely.

"So how's camp and Clarisse?" I asked smirking.

"Camp is great. I'm leaning nice moves and stuff but Clarisse... I have talked to her a couple of times but she isn't my type."

"Why?"

"She is pretty and all but she looks like the delicate and fragile type."

"Woahh.... Clarisse is anything but weak! Don't go on her looks. In battle her strength could but an entire army of demigods to shame." I said.

"Hmm...interesting..."

"Yea, now go and let me eat in peace."

I surely didn't like Tyler. My heart was still stuck on one guy. The guy who liked me, loved me and hurt me. The guy who prefers darkness to like and dead to living. The guy who still loves me...Nico. But will my heart be able to trust him again? No....
