Lar x Reader

You were waiting in the closet at Steep Wisdom trying to find signal in the small, enclosed space. You weren't really the person to mess with today. Your annoying brother Kai was getting on your nerves. You didn't care if you were the youngest. You were Nya and Kai's little sister...adopted that is. You found out that your mother found you on the steps of Steep Wisdom and took you in. You were well cared for until your father died. The last thing that he told you all on his death bed was, "Make sure to protect each other. Promise me...please." You all agreed and watched as his eyes lost their color. Kai went on a rage, knocked over tables and broke a few vases. Nya tried to hide her pain through building a few mechanical machines. You...well you didn't know how to feel. That scene happen a few years ago. Before Kai even aspired to be a Ninja. Nya knew when you needed space, Kai...well, not really. He was being particularly over-protective today. Probably because  of this certain person who came to the party. His name was Lar. You thought about the day were you first met him...at the Tournament of Elements. 

~2 Months Ago~

Lar was fighting Kai. You knew that from your prison cell. Master Chen locked you up knowing that you were a very 'special' person to Kai. You heard from the guards outside your door talking about the fight.

"Did you here about the fight between the Lar-kid and Kai? Who do you think will win?"

"Isn't it obvious? Of course Lar will win. Water beats fire."

A tear fell from your face as you tried to cover your eyes, only finding yourself stuglling against the metal chains around your wrists. After a few hours of waiting the door to the cell to your left was opened and you heard a grunt and chains. You turned your head next to the wall and tried finding a loose slab. You felt a brick move and your pulled it away. You looked into the hole and saw a boy with blond hair, blue eyes, wearing the generic orange jail uniform. He looked sad, defeated. Looking down at the ground in failure.

"Hello?"you call out.

His head snapped up and gazed the wall before seeing your e/c eyes. He forced a smile, at least you and him had some company.

"Hi. What's a girl like you doing here? I haven't seen you in the tournament."he observes.

"Master Chen kidnapped me...I take it your Lar."

"How'd you know that?"he asks.

"News moves around fast down here."

"I still don't know your name."he chuckles.

"I'm Y/N. Y/N Smith, Kai's adopted sister."you answer.

"O-Oh..."he sighs turning away."Your...your brother is an amazing fighter."

"Yeah...did you hurt him in anyway?"you smile"Because if you did-"

"Don't worry! I couldn't even lay a finger on him...near the end."

You two got to know more about each other as time in your cells lengthen. Lar went to go work in the factory every now and then. You loved Lar...as a friend. Until now.

~Present~

You didn't want to admit it, but you started to fall for the boy. It was so strange. Seeing him now made your heart flutter, you wanted to tell him everything you weren't able to in the cell. But you dumb teammate needed to toss you into the closet with barely any consent. The door creaked open and a thin light reached the wall next to you. Suddenly the door opened and closed. You felt someone next to you but in the darkness they just looked like a blur.

"Who's this?"you ask poking the person.

"Hi Y/N. It's Lar."

You blush and put your hands back to your sides. You could barely contain all the happiness that welled up inside you.

"It's been awhile."you blush.

"Yeah...I just can't get over the fact that I'm in a closet."

"Do you even know the point of the game?"you giggle.

"I mean...I can't believe I'm in here...w-with you. Like-I just...nevermind!"he blabs faceplaming at the end.

You raise you eyebrow slightly before replying.

"Is something wrong Lar? You haven't been acting like yourself."

"W-Well...yeah. Sorry, I just can't tell you right now."

"If you want to tell me something, right now is probably the best. We're alone and I have no plans besides staying in her until either the guys open the door, or I kick it down after getting bored."

"There's the Y/N I know and l- I mean..."he blushes."Fine! I like you okay."

Your eyes widened as you looked at Lar. What? He liked you?!

"Do you really mean that?"you whisper."I mean don't you like someone else?"

"Do you not like me back?"

"No! I love you too, b-"

"That's all I needed to hear!"cheers Lar.

You laugh into his chest as he pulls you into a hug. You rested you head onto his chest and listened to the slow beat of his heart. The door opens and Kai stood there ready to punch Lar just for touching you. You glared at Kai. Not like 'glare' glare more like, 'Step away or die' glare. Kai stepped aside and let the two of you walk out.

"If you so much as make her cry...you're on my hit list."sighs Kai.

"Don't worry Kai!"you smile."He wouldn't do that."

Kai smiled sadly at you before hugging you tightly.

"Dad would be proud."
