Steve I love you.

Steve POV.

we were in the middle of fondueing when someone banged on the door. "I'll get it." you said. a blood curdling scream followed. "STEVE! STEVE I NEED HELP!" Peggy screams. I grab my shield and rush down the stairs. a man with a HYDRA symbol on his shirt holds Peggy back with a gun to her temple. the man says in a heavy German accent "surrender now and the woman lives. HAIL HYDRA!" Peggy struggles. whispers the words "Steve I love you." "let her go." I say. "as you wish." he says. he pushes her to the ground. she hits her head hard and blacks out. the man shoots at her. I jump in front of her unconscious body and lift my shield to protect her. my body however is unprotected. a bullet almost knocks my head off. I duck just in time. the bullet hits the wall behind us. the man slurrs the HYDRA thing "cut off one head two more shall take its place. HAIL HYDRA!" then he runs. its not worth it. he'll just kill himself anyway. I carry Peggy back to the bedroom. she's brused pretty badly. she moans wakes up and screams. "shhh. its okay. he's gone now." I say. "you mean...it really happened?" damn I wanted to say no. I wanted to tell her she was fine. that everything was normal. but it wasn't. I thought when the red skull died so did HYDRA. I. was. Wrong.

Peggys POV.

I was afraid. I wake up bruised, screaming, and my head is pounding. I can still feel the tip of the gun on my temple. I can feel the HYDRA soliders breath on my neck, he reeked of vodka, and I'm glad to be safe. "Its okay, he's gone now." Steve says, hovering over me. "You mean it actually happened?" I ask, my voice shaking. He nods. "I thought when Schmidt died..." Steve begins "HYDRA would end." we finish at the same time. "We were wrong, werent we?" I say. He nods. We go to sleep, neither of us very restful.

I hope Steve proposes soon.
