"Kill me then! I am a dead man walking" Dante yelled. He didn't even flinch when Matteo pointed the gun to his head, he didn't fight back.
"It was you who sent people to rape Luca, wasn't it!" said Matteo. I flinch remembering that horrible night, I rub my arm feeling the need to take a shower and wash everything away.
"It wasn't, why would I do that to my sons" Dante replied. Matteo laughed.
"Do you really expect me to believe that, you left us, we didn't you did and you never came back. Mother wouldn't even explain what happen to you but she made us promise to not end up like you. Why would she says that? why are you even our father!" Matteo said
"I never wanted this! I f*cking loved her but I couldn't save her. You know nothing so that's why she says nothing about me to protect you and your bother from my stupid mistakes" Dante replied
"What are you talking about?" I asked. In the corner of my eyes I see Fernando's men enter the room making sure everything is clear. I sighed in relief seeing Fernando bruised up but he's okay as he gives me a thumbs up. Immediately they went to attend Xander's wounds making sure he's okay, Xander left the room with Fernando as he left us alone speaking to Dante.
"For once in your life stop feeding us lies, anything that comes out of your mouth is lies!" Abele growled glaring at Dante.
"You killed her, she's my baby, she didn't even get a chance to live her life and you f*cking killed her!" Abele roared.
"Calm down" said Vettorio
"No! I want f*cking answers and I want it now! he ruined me!" Abele replied
Dante ignored Abele but I could see the pain in his eyes when he meets Abele's gaze, his attention remained on Matteo and I. His shaky hand went inside his pocket and immediately we all pointed our gun at him but at this point it seemed he didn't care whether we shot him already. Dante pulled out a golden ring then a small ripped photo, he looked at his carefully then put the ring on his finger.
"All my life I wanted my father to love me, he blamed me for my mothers death even she denied to kill me as doctors constantly told her she wouldn't live through birth but she wanted me to live a life I haven't experienced yet. As I grew it was hard to know what love is, I never gotten that from my father and never will. When I was 21 that's when I met the love of my life, I remember that stormy night so clearly.
Getting shot on my leg wasn't suppose to happen but my get away plan obviously failed, I was afraid the men searching for me would find her but they didn't. How injured I was she didn't utter a word expect she helped me, my appearance scream trouble but she didn't ask questions. She walked me to her apartment where she quickly fix my wound, her beauty always amaze me and I think to myself, how could anyone be this beautiful" said Dante
We all stood in shock, I was confused on what he's trying to say but I felt like he needed to continue in order the get the answers we demanded for.
"It was forbidden to love her, she was born in a family of the oddest mafia in Italy. I was shocked myself learning about her when she didn't know what her family did. As innocent as she can be, they kept it a secret from her fearing the truth would cause more pain than they'll think. As our love grew stronger it's impossible for us to be apart, we couldn't god without a day being in each others arms.
When she talk to me that night, I remember her looking afraid, I was worried waiting for her to tell me what's bothering her. After an hour of silence she confessed she is pregnant, my reaction wasn't what she expected as I laughed in joy happy we're starting our own family. She taught me how love considering the monster become long ago but she's my light in my darkest night. We were more shocked when the results came back, we're having twins, twin boys" said Dante
"What's the point of this?" asked Antonio but Dante ignored his question and try to continue but he then looked behind him. He stopped telling his story as he mumbled to himself, he slowly stood and walked around the room.
"I-I promise I'll come back, w-wait for me" he mumbled to himself.
"Dante" I called, he turned around.
"Who are you?" he asked
"W-Wait do you know Maria?" he asked me
"She's my mother" Matteo replied. He looked confused, it's the disease that's making him lose control. Suddenly Dante smiled and hugged Matteo tight, Matteo looked confused and uncomfortable from Dante sudden act.
"See I told you I'll come back, you've grown so much" said Dante
"Where's your mother, she'll be happy to see me" Dante asked. He walked out of the room heading towards the kitchen calling our mothers name. Then he stopped, he let out of loud sob as he fall to the ground crying.
"I'm sorry!" he cried
"Come back!" he sobbed. I didn't know what to do, I didn't understand anything he said and what he's trying to tell us before is very important, I need him to finish his story.
"Why are you crying?! you don't deserve to cry for her" yelled Matteo. I looked behind me seeing Xander cry, I wanted to go and hug him but he shook his head and pointed at Dante.
"He killed her and I couldn't stop him, I was to weak to do anything! I need power, I need power!" Dante replied. I meet Dante's gaze and asked the most important question.
"Why did you leave us?" I asked
"To save you all from my father and myself" he replied
"You deserve to die for all the innocent lives you've taken, I ain't buying this poor little me act" said Vettorio.
"I couldn't return because my father wouldn't let me, I try to keep my family a secret but her brother found out and send out our location. I had to kill him in order to protect my family, I didn't want to be like this but I am" Dante replied
"So why try to kill us, try to kill me?" I asked. He chuckled.
"I am a monster son, it's nothing new, every time I look at you all I see is her and I remind myself there was another way to save her. I could of agreed to run away to Australia but my pride says otherwise and this is the result, she's dead and there's nothing I can do" he replied
