Chapter 10: The Phoenix

Yuna's P.O.V.

"Do you know the story of King Hiryuu and the Four Dragons?" Ik-su asked. "Yes..our Father used to tell us this story before we sleep when we were young." I said. "King Hiryuu was originally a dragon, right?" Yona asked.

"Yes, you are right. But since he lived in the human world, he turned himself into a human. He became the First King of Hiryuu Castle. Even though some of the people wanted his power and attempted to execute him, he could not bring himself to hate them. That's when the Four Dragons appeared. The White, Blue, Green and the Yellow Dragon appeared before him and tells him to return to heaven and leave the humans. But Hiryuu did not return. The Four Dragons loved Hiryuu so much. So they gave some of their blood to humans. Humans who will protect Hiryuu with their life. One human gained sharp claws, one gained eyes which can see towards great distances, one gained the leg which can jump high and one gained an immortal body.They were known as the Dragon Warriors and formed the Five Tribes which is Fire, Water, Sky, Earth, Wind. The Dragon Warriors swore to protect Hiryuu with their life. Then came a day when Hiryuu grew tired of fighting and went to a deep slumber. The Dragon Warriors knew that he won't wake up again so they left their clans and lived their own life somewhere." Ik-su finished.

"But there is one more human who stayed by King Hiryuu's side. She was like Hiryuu and the Dragon Warriors who turned to human." Ik-su added.

"Who? Also a Dragon Warrior?" Yona asked. "No, she is not a dragon warrior, she is a Phoenix." Ik-su explained. "A female?" I asked. Ik-su nods.

"I've never heard of that." I whispered. "Yes, because most people only believed on King Hiryuu and The Dragon Warriors." Ik-su said.

"The Phoenix can heal any kinds of illness and injuries." Ik-su continued.

"But those are legends, right?" Yona said. "No. They really exist." Ik-su tells us, straight forwadly.

"What? They exist?" I ask. "Yes. They do but they live somewhere far from humans except for the Phoenix." Ik-su answers. "Why? What happened to the Phoenix?" Yona continued to ask questions.

"When the Dragon Warriors left the kingdom. The Phoenix did not leave King Hiryuu's side until she suddenly disappeared." Ik-su said.

"Now. Princess Yona. I want you and Princess Yuna to look for those dragons. They will be your allies. According to the Gods the Phoenix will awaken when you find the four Dragon Warriors."

"But I don't think they'll lend their strengths to someone they don't know." I said. "No..I'm sure they will help you." Ik-su said and we nodded.

"Fine. We'll look for them." Yona said with determination. "We'll leave tomorrow morning." She added. "Very well." Ik-su nodded.

Time Skip~ (Nighttime)

"Yuna. Do you believe that those Dragon Warriors really exist?" Hak asked as he laid down beside me. Yona was already sleeping. "I do, Hak." I said.

"How can you believe something so phenomenal?" Hak sighed. "I don't know but it's just a gut feeling." I faintly smiled. "Okay, Hak. Sleep now and don't forget that you're still recovering from your wounds." I said and pulled my blanket and covered myself. "Okay. Goodnight Yuna." Hak covered himself with the blanket too and face the other side. "Goodnight."

Time Skip~ (Morning)

We were now standing in front of Ik-su's house getting ready for our departure. "Yoon. Why are you here and what are you packing? Are you..going somewhere?" Yona asked.

"Tch. Ik-su told me to go with you. Is there a problem?" Yoon said irritatingly. "Don't be mad, Yun. Princesses. Please take him with you. He will be helping you on your journey. He can do anything." Ik-su said happily. "Are you fine with it, Yoon?" I looked at Yoon and he just nodded.

"I understand. We'll be going now. Thank you for everything, Ik-su." Yona said and bowed. "See you, Ik-su." I smiled.

"Please be careful." We nodded and walked away while waving our hands to Ik-su.

A new journey begins..
