27. Black Rose

"May the ball begin,"the King announced as people started gathering to the centre of the room and started slow dancing with their partners.It seems like forever as I stood quietly a corner with my black dress,something like a bride dress with diamonds around,but still,Im not the bride here.I wore a silky black glove that match perfectly my skin-Pale skin or whatever you call,with a black coloured mask that match perfectly my dress and glove.Call them a set if you want.

My hands travelled to my dress as I gripped it lightly.It feels so lonely here,in a ball.All my friends have dates,they are all taken,leaving me single.I looked down and stared at the floor,at least I have something to do here.Is just a plain Friday night,except for the fact that the king held a ball- to have fun.I dont even know why I came here,is there a reason for me?I gripped the soft fabric a little tighter,maybe I should leave.But before I could move a step,a deep voice interupted me."Alone?"

I turned my head to the direction of the voice and thats when my world stopped.A guy,tall,wearing a tuxedo,perfect lips and everything,looking at me,or talking."Yeah,"I spoke softly,unsured if Im falling in love or just admiring him.He chuckled deeply which felt like heaven to me.Then,he reached out his hand to me,"may I have this dance then?"I looked at him,meeting his gaze.He sure is handsome,but I dont have a full view of his face - he was wearing a black mask too."Come on,your not rejecting a prince right?"He said and gave me a smile.Prince,what luck am I in?Maybe I should give a try,is not like I dont know how to dance.

I smiled back at him as I let my hand land on top on him as he gladly take it and led me to the centre of the ballroom.It felt like everyone knew that we were going to the centre,the crowd parted letting us to have our way."Relaxed,"he spoke huskily as he had his hands on my waist and shoulder while I let my hands land on his shoulder and back.[A/N:IM SORRY BUT IM NOT FAMILIAR WITH THIS TYPE OF STUFF:((]Slowly,we became part of the crowd and blend in with them.I hung my head low as I look at my feet,watching if I ever stepped on the prince's foot - I am quite a terrible dancer.

"Why do you keep looking at your feet?"The prince asked me as I lifted my head up to meet the beautiful eyes of his again."Well..Im scared I step on you,I am not a good dancer though.."I said as I choose my word carefully.Maybe saying ' terrible ' infront of a prince might be a little rude."Dont worry,I am just like you."He said as his lips tugged up into a smile and I gladly smiled back at him.

Finally the song ended,but Im pretty sure that the next song is coming up.Hence,I wasent sure if the prince wanted to contiune or not.As I was about to ask him whether he wanted to contiune dancing or not,he grabbed my hand and I immediately felt electric shots through my body but kept my facial expression the same.The prince leaned down and said,"Im taking you to somewhere,if that is okay to you?"I nodded my head,not trusting my voice as he smiled and led me to somewhere - he wants take me to.

Thousands of question popped into my mind like,what does the prince want?Where is he taking me?But I shrugged off thoes thoughts,I believe the prince will never do something like that.When I got back into the reality,I realized that the prince had took me out of the ballroom and led me to a beautiful garden with a water fountain in the middle.With the help of the moonlight shining,everything just looked mysterious and perfect.

He led me to a bench and asked me to sit down while waiting for him - which I obeyed of course.I let myself drifted into my imaginery land again.Thinking of my life like...why havent I got a boyfriend?But Im pretty sure I know the reason.I sort of rejected the boys that asked me out.Boys in my school are bad.Just then,I heard the sound of the footstep and each step,it was louder saying that the person was nearer.

I immediately straightened up my body as I snapped towards the sound of the footstep and happened to realised that the prince was sitting beside me with both his hands behind his back.Did I really zoned out till I didnt realised him?He leaned in foward as I just sat there letting the prince do whatever he wants,but then really make me nervous.Suddenly,I felt warm breath caressing my right ear as the prince said,"have anyone told you that you are beautiful?"I nodded my head in response.He smiled as he reached out one of his arm infront of me and my eyes immediately landed on the object he was holding - a stalk of black rose.My eyes widened in suprised."T-they exist?"I asked the prince but mentally scolded myself for being so rude or informal to him."Yes darling,"he said as he brought the flower closer to my hand motioning me to accept it.I gladly accept the flower and careful not to get hurt by the thorns and spoked,"thank you your highness!" And bowed a little.He chuckled and said,"drop the formalities,just call me Chanyeol."I smiled in responsed and nodded my head.He smiled back and leaned in towards me while I stayed still.I could feel my heart beating out from my chest as I tried to remained calm.

He extended his arms to the back of my head and I felt my mask losening.He was untying it and I gladly allowed him.When he was done,he slowly took off the mask and examained my face.He then leaned in and rest his forehead on mine and I could feel my cheeks heating up.I felt his hot breath fanning on my cheeks.Then,he let his lower jaw leaned in and kissed me softly on the lips.And I kissed back.While kissing,I felt something slipped into my hand but I didnt care.And thats when the warmth disappear on my lips."See you soon,beautiful."He said as he turned away and left,leaving me in the garden alone.I snapped my head towards my hand and found a slip of paper - or ticket.The headline written ' Ticket to the Grand Ball ' .I gasped.Grand Ball is the day where the prince chose his wife - Princess.Immediately,I squealed in delight.I wont misses this chance.Cause I knew,I fall in love.
