Haven

It was Thursday, two nights before that big party Harry invited me too. Molly and I were at the mall, going through yet another rack of evening gowns that cost more than two months of rent. I don't even know why I agreed to go. I won't fit into that scene, I'm going to look so out of place.

"Can't we just go to like Macy's or some place that's not so expensive?" I whine yet again earning a drastic eye roll from Molly.

"Haven, this is a huge event. Not some event to wear some cheap âss dress, these people will notice. We have to blend in. I know you are worried about not fitting in and if you want to fit in then you will find a dress that cost thousands of dollars. Plus your mega hot and mega rich boyfriend is paying remember?" She grins at me mischievously.

"Another reason I don't want to spend so much. I just feel bad for having him buy me something so expensive," I say, cringing as I look at another dress that cost almost three thousand dollars.

"Harry offered darling. Plus, I think he can afford it, don't you think?" She looked at me with raised eye brows, knowing I couldn't disagree with that.

"Fine, but I have no idea what I should pick. Nothing is really standing out to me," I tell her, pulling a green dress off the rack.

"Please, not green. You know, for someone who is into fashion, you are making a poor fashion choice right now." She grabs the dress from me and shoves it back on the rack. I roll my eyes at her.

"I wasn't actually considering that, you know," I tell her as she grabs my arm and drags me off to another part of the store. There was less color, more black, white and all the variations in between.

"I think you should wear black. It's sexy and I feel like this party calls for something black and simple," she says, looking through a rack of dresses. She pulled off a few and hands them to me.

"Here, try these on!" She shoves me towards the dressing rooms. "And make sure you come out and show me every single one." She demands.

I manage to get on the first dress which is pretty, but not me. I go out and show Molly and she immediately scrunched her nose and shakes her head, ushering me back in the cramped room.

I get the second dress on and just stare at myself in the mirror. This dress is perfect. It fits perfectly and flows beautifully. It's all black, the top a deep V and the straps have cut outs that give the dress a sort of edginess to it. The dress was a silk and it felt like butter as I ran a my hands along the material. This was it. This dress was me. I actually felt good in this dress, not like I was dressing up. I smiled at myself in the mirror.

I step out and Molly's jaw drops and her eyes light up.

"That's it. That's the one. Harry is going to lose it," Molly grins at me and I laugh. I go and change back into my regular clothes and take my dress out.

"Stay here, I'm going to try these on," Molly orders me as she takes her handful of dressing into a room. I do as I'm told and take a seat on the couch.

I can't believe I was going to this huge fancy party with a bunch of millionaires. Never in a billion years would I think I'd be going to something like this. Never in a billion years did I think I'd be dating some mega rich, super hot god either. I still think I'm dreaming.

The last couple weeks have been absolutely crazy. Work at school has picked up since finals were right around the corner and I had to get four designs ready to be seen by hundreds of people. Not only was I going to get judge by my professors, my designs were going to be scrutinized but a bunch of other people I didn't know. The pressure to nail these designs was huge. I actually had to stop work at Del Mar just so I could focus on all this work because there was no way I was going to find time to work, work on my designs and study for my other classes. I'd never be able to sleep. I did keep my job at the Loving Room Bar though since I still needed money to pay for rent and bills.
