This is another poem I composed when I was in my fourth year in high school. This is a narrative story in poem form. Enjoy reading!

Metaphor(pagwawangis) is a direct comparison, can also be refered to as analogy. Below are how I used it in this poem:
Butterflies are friends, travelers or simply, ordinary people--uniquely admirable in our own ways. (My batchmates and also me)
Cocoon is conscience, inner voice or determination.
Sea is school life, training ground.
Journey is pursuit to find happiness (as of that moment, mine is to recieve respect from their group, THREE-A).
Colors,kinds means wisdom and personalities.
Most colorful one is most knowledgeable, clever or bright (Ms.Salazar).
Most pretty is most genuine (Ms.Tolda).
Waves are challenges.
The Dolphin is a guru, adviser, mentor. (My English teacher, a.k.a. favorite teacher, Mrs.Wagas).
Ocean is professionalism, true life.
Watching eyes is God.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

How wondrous creatures of God are butterflies!
They give us all gladness, true appreciation of life.
When we smile or cry out of happiness they light up--glisten, our eyes,
When we fall in love, of course, they fly inside our stomachs.

Oh, after three long years that I hid, my cocoon spoke to me.
"You should learn to be courageous, restart your journey through the sea."
There I saw lots of butterflies,
of myriad colors, of different kinds,
But, among all of them, there was a crowd that challenged me--edified my mind.

At that part I saw my journey had transpierce a different stage.
I was so worried waves were so big. Oh mother, so afraid!
But then, my journey's half a success---I was loved and was caressed.
I've outstand and won the respect of the past crowds,
That had made me oh, so proud.

Until, six butterflies approached,
But only five conferred with me.
And right after left me wond'rin',
"Why only the blue monarch tarried with me?".

To befriend me, I knew, to him was a test,
An obligation to show his best.
Unaware we flew and made a little lead,
A little distance from that crowd.

But fate, revelations hit us mad!
'cause to that crowd our deeds meant bad.
So I decided to ungroup with the blue monarch,
To build friendship with that crowd.

From that crowd outstand the most colorful one
Which with her's the most pretty.
I've found this task not an easy one,
As I first thought it would be.

High-spirited, in spite all the adversities,
I've courageously steer above the murderous waves.
Yet, still out of doin' my best, untanglin' the test,
The great fear had found its place.

I bet, hardship then had convinced me
"You can never join the crowd!"
But, not until one day I met a dolphin
Whom at first I thought was a shark.

How adorable the silvery scenery shined my saddest sight!
It was her bright beautiful color that's a sign of the ocean so wide.
Oh, her mysterious wisdom about my journey,
Her great belief to the watching eyes.
She had made me realize marvelous things.
Now the proud had found her prize.

This is the poem that tells of how my high school life in Ligaya NHS turned out to be so much challenging and unforgettable. Nang mga oras na nakalkal ko 'to mula sa mga gamit ko, naalala ko si Jeff Lorenze Vanguardia. Hehe. Na-miss ko tuloy sya bigla. I believe, he was the one who appreciated this most kasi hinanap nya pa ito sa 'kin. :) Thanks for reading!
