Chapter Twenty

Hello to all my lovely readers, first of all thank you all for reading my story and all the votes and comments mean the world to me. I just wanted to give you all a little heads up, this chapter may touch on a few darker topics like abuse and rape. As mentioned in previous chapters Nia hasn't had the best life and this chapter delves little into that. It won't be anything too dramatic or harsh but I thought it would be best to let you lovelies know.

"Ryker please just back up and let me talk to her, I'll probably have more luck than you, no offense"

We were currently standing outside my brother and Nia's room in which she had locked herself and refused to come out of. What I could only describe as pure terror radiated from her as Alpha Randall spoke and it was very apparent they had history, bad history.

"Nia it's me Liv, Can I come in? I just want to see if you're okay"

After a few minutes of my constant pleading I heard the lock click so very slowly I opened the door and ducked into the room making sure to close and relock the door behind me. Nia was pacing back and forth across the room, tears streaming down her face

"He found me, how did he find me? I'm dead, I can't go back there I can't"

She kept mumbling as she paced and when I reached out to stop her she suddenly took hold of shoulders, her eyes wild and panicked locking with mine

"I can't go back there Liv, he'll kill me if you let him take me"

I'd never heard someone so terrified in my life and I wanted nothing more than to protect her

"Nia nobody is taking you away, this is your home and you're safe here. Ryker and I won't let anybody hurt you okay, I promise"

My words seemed to give her a little comfort as she began to calm down, her heavy breathing evening out slightly.

"He's the reason I'm so screwed up, hes the reason I can't trust anyone. He's my uncle"

I felt my eyes practically pop out of my head at her admission. I guided her over to the sofa that sat in the middle of the large room and sat down with her making sure to keep close as she clung to my arms.

"My parents were Alpha and Luna of our pack and were murdered in front of me when I was six, since I was an only child and too young to take over my dads younger brother Kevin stepped in and became Alpha, and my legal guardian"

It took me by surprise to hear her parents were once Alpha and Luna and made me curious as to how she had ended up a rogue

"It started when I was eight, he began pushing me around, hitting me if I disobeyed him. He'd tell me it was my fault my parents were dead and he treated me like a slave. As i got older it worse, He'd order me around then beat me before telling me how pretty I was, how womanly I was becoming"

Nia's eyes were glazed over staring at the wall as if she were staring into her past

"The doctor said it was the trauma of losing my parents that had broken something inside me, that's why I didn't start shifting when I turned 13. I thought maybe I was a late bloomer but by the time I was sixteen I still hadn't shifted and the beatings were getting worse only now things had escalated, I could see the lust and hunger in his eyes"

Nia's face turned into an expression full of disgust and anger and I was pretty sure I knew what she was going to say.

"The first time it happened he came into my room in the middle of the night, I woke up to him holding his hand over my mouth to stop me screaming. He took away my innocence, he stared down at me with a sick twisted smile on his face as he forced himself inside me. His wife found out but he told her I'd seduced him so she beat me. Everytime he'd come to my bed and force himself on me he would say I deserved it and that I wanted him then he'd give her the same excuse that I seduced him and everytime she'd hit me. She was too weak and power hungry to accept what was really going on so just blamed me instead"
