Chapter 1 - Date

"Welcome to Antieku!" A voice said as we entered the coffee shop.

"Come on guys, let's go sit down." I said to my best friends, Kaneki and Hide.

"What can I get you guys?" A young waitress asked.

"Can I get a cappuccino?" I asked. She nodded and took down all of our orders.

"They'll be ready in a few." She said and walked away.

"Wahh~ I love cute little shops like these!" I explained as I continued to admire the coffee shop.

"Hey Kaneki, that waitress was cute wasn't she?" Hide asked Kaneki.

"I guess.." Kaneki replied.

"Hide, don't you know Kaneki's crush?" I asked him.

"Nope."

"There she is!" Kaneki said quietly so only the 3 of us could hear.

As he said that a pretty girl with long purple hair walked past our table. I watched as Kaneki admired her beauty with a tint of blush on his cheeks. I was kinda sad and jealous because Kaneki was my secret crush. Nobody knew Kaneki was my crush and I knew Kaneki had a crush so I kept it hidden and just went with the flow.

"My, my! Kaneki you should go talk to her!" I said as I nudged him with my elbow.

"(F/N)'s right Kaneki! Do it! Do it!" Hide replied and we high fived each other.

"Fine. I'll go." He said as he stood up and gave us each a look before we watched him walk over to her table.

"They look good don't they?" I lied.

"Pshh! Stop lying (F/N)!" Hide said to me.

"W-What are you talking about! They look nice together! Look at them!" I said lying again.

"(F/N), Kaneki is a really dense person. Even I could tell that you have a crush on him." Hide told me. A blush started to form across my cheeks.

"R-really?" I slumped into my seat.

"Here you go." The waitress came back with our coffees and placed them on the table.

"Where's the other guy?" She asked.

"He's over there. You can just put it here." I told her and she did what I told her.

"Thank you..miss.."

"Kirishima Touka, but you can just call me Touka." She replied.

"Thank you Touka-Chan." She gives me a small smile and she walks away to go help other costumers.

"Ahh, it tastes so good.." I said to nobody as I took a sip of my cappuccino.

"How's yours?" I asked Hide.

"It's good." He replied taking another sip of his coffee.

Kaneki walked back to us with a big smile on his face. I was always happy to see his smile but this time, that smile would bring us further apart.

"So.. How did it go?" I asked with fake excitement.

"Amazing! We're going to go on a date to a book store tomorrow!" He exclaimed and my smile faded a little.

"Bwahahah, a book store?" Hide joked as he started laughing. "It doesn't surprise me though."

"Kaneki, I'll come over to your place early in morning to get you ready for your date. You always have to look presentable in front of a girl." I said as I sipped my coffee.

"Okay, thanks (F/N)-Chan." Kaneki said with a smile.

"I wonder why (F/N)." Hide asked with a smirk.

"Shut up Hide!" I yelled at him as I threw my hands on his face.

"Well, I better get going. Kaneki walk (F/N) home okay?" Hide says.

"Okay, see you later Hide." Kaneki says.

As Hide was walking towards the door he turns around to face me, gives me a wink and two thumbs up.

'I'm going to kill you!' I screamed in my mind.

"No you won't!" Hide says as if he read my mind.

"So, what did you talk to Kamishiro-San about?" I asked curious.

"Well, we talked to each other about our similar likes in books." Kaneki replied to me. I laughed at him and he gave me a worried look.

"Was it a bad topic to talk about? Should I have said something else?" Kaneki asked and I shook my head at him.

"Not at all, it's just very Kaneki like. That's all." I smiled at him and he smiled back.

"Well it's getting a little late, we should be get going." I told him as I grabbed my bag and stood up. I payed Touka-Chan and Kaneki and I left the shop.

"What time is your date?" I asked.

"Around 10 A.M." Kaneki said as we were walking to my apartment.

"Okay, I'll come at around 9 A.M then, do you know when you'll be done?" I asked.

"Maybe around 5 P.M? I'm not sure actually."

"Then I'll just stay at your place tomorrow. Okay?" I asked.

"Sure."

Kaneki and I have known each other since we were in middle school, we became good friends quickly and that's how I met Hide. We would always hang out as a trio and we stuck together. In my last year of junior high, I started devoting feelings for Kaneki, but I knew that he thought of me like a sister. So I continued to act like a sister to him and watched him from a far.

"Good night Kaneki, I'll see you tomorrow." I said as he dropped me off at my apartment.

~The Next Day~

"Ka-ne-ki! Ka-an-ki!" I shouted as I lightly but loudly pounded on his door. 'Don't tell me he's still sleeping!' I thought.

"Kaneki KEN!" I yelled. I knew he would be rushing to the door in a few seconds because I never said his first name, and when I did there would be consequences.

"S-Sorry (F/N)-Chan!" Kaneki apologized as he opened the door.

"Your lucky I am here! If I wasn't Kamishiro-San would have thought you bailed on her!" I said to him as I set my stuff down on his counter.

"Y-yeah. Thanks for coming." Kaneki said as he scratched his cheek. I just stares at him and let out a loud and long sigh.

"Yeah, yeah. I know. Now go shower and wear these." I said to him as I gave him a decent looking outfit.

"There. You look nice! Good job me!" I said as I gave myself a pat on the back.

"Thanks (F/N)-Chan. I'll be going now." Kaneki told me.

"Bye! Have fun!" I said as I gave him a thumbs up and watched him leave. When he left I went back inside his apartment and threw myself on his bed.

"I wish I went on a date with you.." I mumbled.
