Chapter Thirty Seven

Trevor and I stayed in the room for that whole day. At 6:00 PM Kaleb and his goons walked into the room.

"Are you ready to forgive me." He asked as he walked closer to me. I put a fake smile on as he sat on the bed. He became cheery and smiled. I spit in his face, he didn't expect it. His face became dark and grim. He grabbed me by my hair. I didn't show the pain I was in this time. He smiled darkly and got in my face. "I don't want you to scream that would be too noisy." He said. He punched me in the face while keeping a hold of my hair. I flinched, but didn't scream. He threw me against a mirror the glass shattered causing cuts all over my body. Trevor tried to break free from the goons hold, but it was no use. Kaleb walked over and picked me up off the ground by my hair. "Two more days or you're dead." He whispered in my ear. Kaleb threw me to the ground near Trevor's feet. His goons let Trevor go afterwards. He dropped down to his knees on the ground next to me. Kaleb walked out with his goons following closely behind. He picked me up and placed me on the bed.

"I'm so sorry Kayla. Don't worry were leaving tonight." He stated and I nodded. "Try to catch some sleep, you're going to need it." I shut my eyes soon falling into a deep sleep. I woke up to Trevor shaking me very easily. He had a small book bag over his shoulder. "Come on we're leaving." He stated. I tried to stand, but ended up not being able to.

"Trevor I can't stand up." I whispered and he nodded.

"Okay, don't worry. I'll just carry you." He replied and scooped me into his arms. He slowly walked around the house he tried his best not to make noise. We got to the front door when we heard something. It was Trevor's pet fox like creature, Cery. She trotted after us while she wagged her tails. "Hush, Cery!" Trevor exclaimed. He opened the front door and Cery followed us out. Trevor looked to make sure it was clear then took off running. Cery followed us every step of the way. Trevor ran for three hours before he stopped. "We're off the property and we should be to the vampire kingdom within two more hours." He announced. I became excited, I was finally going to see my mate. I missed him so much I didn't know how he was going to handle Trevor though. I shook my head as Trevor walked at a steady pace. We walked for what seemed like forever. Trevor stopped every couple minutes to catch his breath. I became hungry and he pulled out an apple from the book bag. I saw the black shirt he had gotten me in the bag. I smiled at while I looked around at the surroundings. The vampire's castle came into sight and I became even more excited. I saw guards everywhere. They surrounded the kingdom while searching for something. Trevor walked up and they spotted us. One man came out taking me from Trevor's arms. Then all of the other guards pointed their guns at Trevor.

"What on earth are you doing?" I asked and they all stared at me strangely. "Is that any way to treat the man that saved me from my kidnappers?" they lowered their guns as they did so Trevor walked up and snatched me from the other man's arms. They guided us to the castle and one man rushed inside. Trevor set me down but kept supporting me so I wouldn't fall. Eric came out of the castle looking like he hadn't been sleeping, eating, or much of anything. He looked agitated towards the guard, but when he saw me his face lit up with joy. He ran towards me engulfing me in a bone crushing hug. He looked into my eyes and kissed me. How I had missed him and his loving kisses. He looked over at Trevor with confusion all over his face. "I will explain everything in time. I need to sit down though because I'm in a great deal of pain right now." I stated and everyone went inside to the sitting room. Eric sat me on the couch and Trevor sat on my right while Eric sat on my left.

"Who is this?" Eric asked. His voice was like music to my ears.

"This is Trevor, he is a demon and is also my protector." I explained and Eric looked at me confused. "If a demons mate either dies or rejects them then they get a person who they devote their life to protecting. Also known as a protector."

"I see, now why are you hurt like this?" He questioned me.

"The person who kidnapped me beat me because I wouldn't forgive him." I explained. My parents rushed into the room. My mother immediately came to me, she hugged me and kissed me on the forehead. My father stood there like he was bored out of his mind.

"Who kidnapped you? It was the centaurs wasn't it!" My mother exclaimed and I shook my head.

"Well then who?" Eric asked.

"It was Kaleb." I stated and everyone gasped. "He wants the throne very badly and he would have done anything to get it. That included kidnapping me and beating me." I explained. My mother started to sob into her hand. I put my hand on her shoulder.

"I am so sorry for what Kaleb did to you." She cried and hugged me. I hissed in pain, but didn't say anything about it.

"Mom, Dad, I am so sorry to tell you this, but I can't take the throne anymore. My own brother has caused me harm for it and I do not want that burden." I told them. My mother nodded in understanding while my father became infuriated.

"You will take the throne no questions asked young lady." He roared and I flinched. I hid my face in Eric's chest, he wrapped a protective arm around me.

"Don't you dare speak to her in that tone." My mother said. "Since I am pregnant we have another chance for a heir to the throne. You will not be mean to our daughter because she has decided for her own safety to not take the throne."

"Congratulations mom on the pregnancy." I whispered. She turned her head to look down at me with a smile on her face.

"Thank you sweetie." She stated and pat my knee. She whipped her head around to look at my father. "Another thing, we will have our guards search for Kaleb. Then we will hand him over to the vampire kingdom for his punishment."

"Now if you all don't mind, my mate needs some rest. We will be in our room if anyone needs us." Eric announced and scooped me up into his arms. Trevor stood up to go, but I gestured for him to sit down.

"Stay here Trevor, I will see you later." I said and he nodded.

"One of the servants will show you to your room." Eric told Trevor. Trevor nodded in thanks and Eric turned around. He walked up to our room and opened the door. He set me down on the bed while being careful not to hurt me. He got in next to me and pulled the blanket over us. He had an arm draped over my waist and the other supported his head.

"I missed you Eric, a lot." I stated and Eric smiled at me.

"I missed you too love. Trust me I didn't eat, sleep, or drink anything while you were away. All I could think about was getting my beautiful fiancé back. I can see you're tired, we can talk later. Get some rest." He said and laid his head down. We got in our usual position, he laid on his back while I had my head on his chest. We both soon slowly fell into a deep sleep.
