Author's Note: This is the final chapter for this short mini-series. I hope y'all enjoy it as much as I've enjoyed writing it - despite causing the tears I may have given some of y'all. As a writer, I regret nothing, haha.
Also, check out the fan video I posted with this chapter. Ugh, it just gave me all the feels.

Something in the atmosphere felt wrong. Chris's groomsmen we're laughing over something hilarious Scott had said. Probably a funny and embarrassing childhood story of Chris that Scott loves to tell others. They were all having such a good time, but Chris wasn't.
As he watched his groomsmen and brother take a shot, he couldn't help but realize someone more important was missing. Since he was younger, he always knew his number one best friend would be his best man. He didn't care if she was a girl. She would stand next to him. It was killing him that she wasn't here to celebrate and party with him.
Chris remembered the last time he saw Y/N. In her bedroom, where she finally - after all these years - admitted to being in love with him. He dreamt about that moment constantly throughout his life. It finally happened, but the timing was off.
Was it though? He thought to himself.
He suddenly realized Y/N was never meant to be here at this party. She was never meant to be his best man on his wedding day. She had always been the best friend he would spend the rest of his life with.
"Hey," Scott nudged Chris, pulling him out of his trance. "Are you okay?"
Chris cleared his throat. "Yeah, I just can't stop thinking..." He stopped himself, because he knew it was wrong to say another woman's name that wasn't his fiancé. He looked up and saw his brother giving him a look, one that read that he felt bad for him.
Scott knew. Either one of them needed to tell him anything. He had always known as he watched them two together his entire life. He leaned in towards his brother and said only for him to hear, "You're not fine. You're Chris and Y/N...."
His words slapped him in the face. Scott was right. It had always been Chris and Y/N. There was never someone else and nor could there be. He would never be fine without Y/N in his life.
Chris pulled back and stared at his brother. "Scott, I'm gonna go to the bathroom," Chris lied as he got up and walked away from his bachelor party.
Chris didn't know what he was gonna say or what he was gonna do. All he knew was he had to go across town and see Y/N. He tried his best not to speed so much and run any yellow lights, but he couldn't help it. The clock was ticking and he had to get there as soon as possible.
Y/N jumped from her seat as a loud knock on the door scared the hell out of her. She placed her hand on her chest and paused the movie she had on Netflix. She knew watching a horror movie home alone in the dark was not the best idea.
"I'm coming!" She yelled as the knocking came back, but louder this time around. She looked through the peephole and her breath hitched as she saw Chris standing there. Through the peephole, he looked so far away. She couldn't read his facial expression to wonder why he was here. Her chest felt tight. She couldn't breath and her heart had stopped. Fear ran over her body.
She slowly opened the door. "Chris..." She barely whispered. Seeing him brought back mixed emotions. The sight in front of her brought back the familiar pain of heartbreak, but she also yearned for him. She wanted to hug him tight as she missed him terribly. She pushed back all of those feelings and tried her best to speak. "What are you doing here?"
Without answering, he walked right past her and into her apartment. She followed him to the living room. Panic washed over her as her eyes followed Chris, who was pacing back and forth. He was deep in his thoughts and biting his fingernails.
