Trying to love (Elijah Mikaelson)

Chapter 25

Sofia strode in, grabbing the attention of the blood thirsty vampires but Elijah and Klaus trailed behind, making sure she was safe.

"Amelia, come with me, I found out what the gem holds"

We all went somewhere quiet so we could talk without prying ears. I haven't taught them hearing yet.

I sat down "okay what is it?" I asked

"Well, going through details, it has a hint if vervane, human blood blah blah, all very familiar ingredients to deal with vampires but it also includes blood of a powerful witch, which can be used as a reversing agent..."

"...Sofia! This doesn't make sense, you know that, right?" I interrupted

"Well basically it can cure vampirism" the words echoed through my body, I froze. I could be human again, I could live and age and grow, I could finally be at peace with the world and die at peace. I could be normal.

"I could be human" the words slipped my mouth, my thoughts had gotten the better of me. I shook my paralysed look off and began to nervously laugh.

Everyone looked at me, Elijah tilted his head "is that your wish?" He asked

"No no don't be silly" I smiled and laughed it off, trying not to lock eye contact with anyone in the room

"Of course she doesn't, we can use the gem to turn Mikael human and we can kill him..."

"If she wants the cure, she can have it" Elijah interrupted "I will do anything for this girl"

"Yes brother, I know but this may be our only chance to kill Mikael" this developed into a full blown argument with Elijah standing and squaring up to Niklaus

"If you want to use it on Mikael, you need to plunge it into his heart, that'll work for sure" Sofia added

"Guys stop!" I interrupted, weaving myself in between them "use the gem for Mikael" I demanded "the party is tonight, loud music and distractions, that's gonna make him come" I informed, taking the gem from Sofia and placing it into Elijah's palms.

He closed his hand and slipped it into his inside pocket.

"On a different note, how are the vampires coming along" Klaus smiled

"Well it's not much, given one day" I began "they can control their hunger, that's the first thing I focused on and they can fight but they are not strong" I huffed

"It'll do" Klaus replied, changing his gaze to his watch "well, you best get ready, guests will be arriving soon" and with that, I walked through the door.

In my room, I was getting ready. I knew I was late, as I have heard multiple guests come.

I slipped on a black and grey dress. My hair fell in loose curls down my shoulders and back.

I threw myself on my bed and huffed. I was absolutely devastated that I could easily become human but yet, was too far from my clutches. I could take it for myself, but risk any side affects or risk Mikael getting the upper hand.

Just as I cut my thoughts off, someone knocked on the door,

"Are you alright?" The smooth voice asked

"Yes, Elijah I am fine" I smiled, turning around to face him . The smile was forced and I wasn't too sure if it was obvious

"I know you're upset about the gem" he started "and I know this isn't going to turn you back to how you used to be, but I saw it today and I thought of you" he pulled out a long box and handed it to me
