Hello all! It's been a million years since I've been sharing my writing on Wattpad. A little something called a pandemic had much to do with that.
          I hope you are all safe and healthy, and keeping strong together.
          
          I'm back at the writing. However, I won't be posting anything new for a while. Maybe not for another 3 months.
          
          A heads up - you'll see lots of notifications while I edit what I've previously posted. Posting a chapter periodically hasn't worked for me. I'm enjoying taking the time to learn skills that will make The Evolution of Cali, and anything else I write, a better story. I'll post when I feel I have more substantial material to share.
          
          I'm thoroughly enjoying reading new stories and catching up on favourites after time away. Wow! Wattpad has become an amazing wonderland of excellent storytelling over the last couple of years!

So, I took the plunge and published my first three chapters of The Imprint of Stars. A fun foray into the genre (is it even a genre?) of alien meets human trope romance.
          
          Unlike what I do while writing The Evolution of Cali, I'm not falling into my perfectionist habits with The Imprint of Stars. It's a sweet sexy romance...maybe even heartwarming...definitely weird and sometimes cliche... but overall FUN!
          
          Have a wonderful weekend fellow Wattpad writers and readers! I will update again soon, after I meet my summer artisan deadlines. Until then...

Finally FINALLY, I've posted Chapter 23 of The Evolution of Cali!
          THANK  YOU for your patience as I work through my crazy busy schedule. I swear, for artisans like me, summer is as NUTS as Christmas when it comes to orders and events.
          So, Ch.23 is from Diesel's POV. His pain addled brain was a tough one to write. How do I strike a balance between his struggle to stay conscious and his perception of the world conveying answers to the reader? :Hopefully it worked enough to not create confusion. Please leave comments as you read, so I know how to improve the story.
          Thankfully, Cali is up next.
          So, I doubt I'll have many updates on Cali's story before Aug 17. In the meantime I may post some of another story I'm writing.  And I am slowing making my way through catching up with my fellow writers' stories and recent achievements.

Hey friends and readers!
          
          It's July and as promised I've got a chapter of The Evolution of Cali ready to post in the next couple of days. Along with the beginnings of a new story that I'm working on. It's like nothing I've written before.
          
          Alien meets human romance. Total trope yummyness!!! (Those stories are my guilty pleasure reads, so I thought I'd try my hand at it. And it's so fun! LOL)
          
          It's VERY busy times...besides running my jewelry making business, I'm also planning my parents' 50th wedding Anniversary in August! Fun times!
          
          I'll be polishing up the next chapter for Cali over the next 24 hours. To post before end of day Wednesday.
          
          My updates will be hopefully once every couple of weeks until after mid-August when I can devote even more time to writing.
          
          Looking forward to being in touch more soon!

Hello friends!!!
          It's been a while.
          I'm pausing my busy artisan work schedule to let you know that I'll be back in July with new chapters of The Evolution of Cali. I am honoring my new 'business approach', which means sticking to my list of priorities. Pacing myself is a MUST! The adventure will continue.
          June is for stocking stores and galleries, and readying both a Facebook page and Etsy page to go live this summer.
          Also, I started two other silly writing projects which are simply fun to do without thinking too much. Not that Cali's story isn't fun. But it's very intricate, and I get too caught up in the trap of "artistic perfection" while writing.
          My creative life is also my business. I love my work, but it's difficult to let go of being a perfectionist, and just chase the daydreams that are fun to pursue when there are many irons in the fire to feel pressured to work on.
          How do you chase a daydream? Follow that thread of an idea that takes no effort or worry to make happen. Let got of expectations.
          Colour in a colouring book while listening to country music (or whatever style you like)...let your thoughts wander. Take a walk to the brook nearby and sit on a rock with your feet in the water and listen to the sounds of nature. Take a large canvas outside (where you won't splash the walls) and throw paint at it. I have jars of colourful buttons that I like to sort through. Maybe they'll be a part of project, maybe they won't.
          But I don't make a commitment to the buttons. ;-)
          Don't read, watch tv, or engage in conversation. Let ideas float around in your mind and make them manifest, messy and unchecked.
          Play. It's good for the soul.
          Just wander away from home, explore and return to the page refreshed.
          What daydreams am I chasing? I'm jotting them down to share with anyone who wants to chase their own daydreams and take a vacay from unrealistic expectations.

Hello friends and fellow authors!
          My jewelry making business has gone global! Yep. It's the reason you haven't heard from me (either reading or writing) for some time.
          In the past month I've had orders for my jewelry that have exponentially multiplied due to one single post shared by a customer on a Facebook page. (For those working toward any creative goal, it can happen that easily and that quickly, so hang in there and keep believing in what you do!). Now I have orders from Australia to South Africa which will take me well into the New Year.
          Which means I will need to take a break from Wattpad until after Christmas. It's a busy time of year already for artisans like myself. We have Christmas orders, and markets to create product for that can be as last minute as Christmas Eve. And wonderfully so.
          Cali and her story are always on my writing desk, but taking a break with me. I may have orders into the New Year, but the seasonal frenzy and deadlines will have passed and I'll be back into a routine in early January.
          I'll get back to reading on Boxing Day (it's my tradition to sit with a box of cherry chocolates curled up on the couch to read on that day), and catch my breath before getting back to sharing Cali's story.
          I used to think that I'd have to rush getting her story out there. And felt lacking in taking so long to write it. But, there are many authors whose works take years to be published. I know what it takes to put time, sweat and tears - and love - into something you truly believe in. And I'm OK with whatever time it takes for Cali to share her remarkable journey. I hope many of you stick with the journey as well. I'm looking forward to jumping back into yours soon.
