a few hours ago.    *    the plankton winces a bit at even the slightest touch  ,   though they feel a bit ashamed at their lack of resistance.    it simply    ..    caught them off  -  guard.    *    i’m sorry to bother you  ,   but it was starting to hurt again and i don’t know how to fix it.    *    a somber expression rests on the human host’s features  ,   making no move to return her eyes towards hermes.    *    just tell me what to do and i’ll go back to bed.    i just can’t sleep like this.    and    ..    i need to talk out some things that i don’t know how to deal with.

            she surveys the dejected form next to her , an unusual sight of a dampened spirit displayed from the plankton .  hermes doesn't comment through their pauses nor makes a move to hurry them , only continuing to steadily stare until the issue at hand was finally brought to light .  a black eye .  sitting forward immediately , the prisoner takes one of their cheeks into her hand , turning it to the side gently to get a better look at how bad the state of it was in the dim shine the moon provided .  ❛⠀⠀you were ambushed ?⠀⠀❜ she asks incredulously , disbelieving and immediately irritated at the actions taken towards her companion .  ❛⠀⠀shit , foo ..  when did this happen ?⠀⠀❜ a thumb rubs carefully just underneath the eye , frown only becoming more prominent .

            ❛⠀⠀i'm sure it'll come soon .  can't keep you on baby wheels forever .⠀⠀❜ she replies casually , finger tapping against the steering wheel .  despite the relaxed posture and lack of both hands on tbe steering wheel , hermes appeared alert nonetheless , keeping the journey as smooth as she could without nearing the speed limit to avoid suspicion or being pulled over .

*    the words of instruction that hermes offers somewhat swirl around foo fighters’ ears  ,   hearing them slightly.    even though the lesson is now over  ,   foo fighters is delighted to see that hermes’ grip on her hand has not slipped.    it’s quite comforting    &    endearing to the plankton  ,   for whatever reason.    *    yes  ,   i’ve learned so much about driving already.    i cannot wait for the day that i myself am granted the opportunity to drive the car    !

            the giddy attitude itself was amusing to witness from foo fighters .  well , it wasn't like any harm was done in giving a quick lesson .  maybe sometime in the future they'd end up in a situation where only they will be able to drive , this was preparing them in a way .  ❛⠀neutral position allows the engine to turn independently of the wheels .  need it when you're not moving the car .  see ?  like right now .⠀⠀⠀❜ she comments , watching the stoplight change from red to green before she was off again , keeping f.f.'s hand there while driving further .  ❛⠀⠀there's a lot more than gears to driving .  you need several skills to work a car .  but for now , this is the lesson that you're gettin' .  satisfied ?⠀⠀❜
