But no, seriously, I'm just a writer who uses stories to escape from reality. 

And if you're going to escape from reality, you might as well do it the right way. It's not all positivity and rainbows, although I do mention those things from time to time, too.

I'm just trying to figure out where my place in the world is and express myself. Sometimes it's with smut, sometimes it's with violence, occasionally a ruthless amount of swear words, and other times it's just semi-dark humor. 

But all the time -- it is merely to make someone else happy and to help others find their next escape.
