@TheStarNamedAstra no, you clearly don’t understand the problem here. if you’re gonna try to include representation in anything, the least you can do is be lazy about it. also, this literally only applies to people who TRY at it, nobody cares if there’s representation in anything or not. i was initially pissed about someone setting up an opportunity for representation and dodging the whole topic for, and i know, absolutely no reason because a black person’s sister, the mc, was somehow adopted and white which comes out of nowhere and makes no sense. there’s no history of adoption with the family and its not a relevant plot line that connects to anything bigger. it’s just an excuse to keep the mc white. no, i’m not grasping at straws to blame the author, because it’s true. nothing is holding them back from simply making the mc from a black family ACTUALLY BLACK. it’s weird and unnecessary.
