Had an agent I was really hopeful for (2nd time with a full submission for her!) reject The Hawthorn Throne again and I'm not going to lie, I'm feeling pretty low. She gave detailed feedback, which was not expected and appreciated, but in areas that no one else has ever complained about (and indeed some have said they love those aspects!) so I'm in this tailspin of knowing that it's just not the book for her, but also questioning the value and quality of THT and whether or not I should just give up on it. I feel all deeply about this story that it deserves a wider audience but maybe I'm just too attached and can't see the forest for the trees and need to finish the sequel and then let it fade away into the good night...

@relevy I haven't queried before (I will eventually, though, definitely not looking forward to it) but I can imagine just how difficult and time consuming it is, and then when your work is rejected...that would be discouraging to anyone, no matter how experienced and talented, and no matter how successful. But that means that thankfully you're not alone in this experience, and it is definitely not a statement on the quality of your work, so please don't give up. If you truly love this story and want to see it given a wider audience, then you CAN make it happen. Maybe your agent doesn't see the potential that many other people have, but another agent will see its worth (Idk if you have like a contract with this specific agent? But if you're not legally bound to this agent, I'm sure you can find another agent who will be willing to take the plunge with you.) At the end of the day, it might be a good idea to give yourself some time to mourn this loss, which is 100% valid, and also give yourself some valuable space from the manuscript. Then you can come back to the experience with fresh eyes and renewed vigor. I know this is all easier said than done (especially coming from a newbie who's never queried before, lol!) but I believe in you and I believe you can do this. (If I haven't already, I'll be adding The Hawthorne Throne to my library!!)

@CelticWarriorQueen17 I'll never give up on writing but it's hard to know if championing this story is the best thing to be investing in sometimes.

Sorry I've been so absent folks! The holidays have been doing a number on me. I will have the first chapter of "One Thousand Furs" posted this week though and hopefully I'll be back on the forums and reading your great stories by the weekend!

The Hawthorn Throne tied for second in The World of Champions contest, congrats to the deserved 1st place @CelticWarriorQueen!

It is also 1 tasty read away from 4k, and just over 900 votes! Thank you for all the love you guys give this story.

(It's also on submission with an agent so shhh!)

Merry Christmas & Happy 4th night of Hanukkah!

Happy Krampusnacht! This was the perfect opportunity to announce my new project "One Thousand Furs & Other Tales" a short story collection of LGBTQ+ retellings of traditional fairytales. I wanted to craft something specifically for Wattpad and I plan to keep it exclusive to this platform! Add it to your library and expect an update at least once a week starting January 2020 :)

I got antsy and decided to finish up publishing the last 3 chapters of Gunslingers & Galaxies. The first draft is complete and up so if you're a binge reader now's the time! It definitely will need fleshing out and editing but I'm proud of this first (and successful!) nanowrimo effort. Now back to finishing up The Bear King before 2020 rolls around T_T

No, you're not seeing things. Yes, that is a little orange star on my profile now! *SCREAMS* Thank you to you fewer than 100 that will read this message but have given me the support of legions. You are the real MVP's. I'm so honored to join the ranks of the Wattpad stars!!!!
