@krayrs yeah, i was thinking a lot about their storylines! and his wife is super lady macbeth... stannis commits a horrible act at her & melisandre’s behest, just like macbeth does, and his wife’s story completely mirrors lady macbeth’s. and both characters are sort of lead to believe that the crown is their destiny and must do whatever it takes to fulfill that destiny, by both their wives and their witches
@mg-honeybee i- what?? this really caught me off guard ‘cause i never thought about it lol.
witches = red woman
they’re pretty different character-wise in that stannis is very serious and duty-driven and macbeth is pretty greedy, but their stories are pretty similar ig
writing a book is so hard and i hate that it’s hard but i’m starting to be passionate about the story i’m drafting and the themes behind it but arghhh everything is so vast! how does one build a world!
using real-world inspirations really helped me on that one, but i’m struggling SUPER hard with plot. i want it to be gripping. i want to at least draft an hare-minimum outline of major, major events and an ending before i start writing my first draft.
i’ll probably keep posting about this as i struggle so you’ll be seeing more late-night rants! LOL
I think it’s quite a good idea to start with religion because often the morality, social structures etc stem from religion and how it is received. However I realise it’s not always relevant and I am super biased because my degree is in religion and theology so it’s basically my favourite field
