Hello, guys, just want to say that I'm so excited to move into my new home, which happens to be a group home, and that I've got the paperwork signed and everything. So it's official that I will be moving in to the group home in Rocky Mount, North Carolina, the Sunday after my birthday (my birthday is August 21, BTW)! So if you don't hear from me for about two weeks or so, please don't worry or freak out; it doesn't mean that I'm dead or anything, just without any Internet access (the group home doesn't allow for Internet access, apparently, so I've backed up my files from Google Docs and Wattpad itself, at least, the stories that I want to keep, anyway). If you North Carolinians have kept up with the updates from Governor Roy Cooper, you should know that every group home is going to be testing once every two weeks, so that means I'm included in that group as well once I move in. And I have to test negative on the corona virus tests that they give out at least twice in a row, so there's the downside. Plus I have to be administered my medications in the right dosages, so that's another downside as well. There's going to be a lot of changes that I will have to get used to from now on, including the medication dosage administrations every day. But otherwise, it's going to be a lot of fun, aside from those downsides. And also, it will keep me busy until December 4, 2020, when the Wattys results will come out at that time.
Anyway, thank you so much to all the readers, silent or otherwise, for your views on my story, The Siren's Human Mate (The Siren's Human Mate Saga, Book 1), and to all of those who have voted for my book so far! I really do appreciate it, and I assure you, once I see those votes and reads that are on my book so far, it makes my dad much better than when I had left it. So thank you for all that you do to make my day brighter, even if it means reading or voting on my stories!

Hey, guys, just recently changed my profile picture to one with me wearing my glasses! As a matter of fact, I really do need my glasses to see better, and I hope you like the one with me wearing my glasses, as I feel it's more natural to me wearing glasses. I have to be wearing glasses because I have what the eye doctors call acute astigmatism, which makes it really hard for me to see the words on this screen without any prescription eyeglasses. If I can, I should probably get protective prescription eyeglasses instead of me having to wear those ugly goggles over my eyes, and I need to ask the eye doctor if they have any protective prescription eyeglasses next time I see them. If I'm able to afford them, I would gladly do that and not worry about the coronavirus getting in my eyes so much.
Anyway, I hope you are able to enjoy reading my story, and I hope that you guys can support me throughout my journey into the Wattys, as this competition is going to be fierce with thousands of writers going head to head in this competition. But I do wish those who are entering the Wattys the best of luck as well, as I would love to read one of their books from the bookshelves one day!

@BrookeNotAshley Yeah, it's unfortunate, having astigmatism, and it's not pretty at all. Sometimes, people get teased and laughed at for wearing glasses when they actually need them, and I got my first pair when I was only ten years old, back in the fourth grade. If I don't wear glasses, I can't really see the erase board, even when it's right in front of me and I'm sitting close enough to it. I even took that class test with your eyes, where you have to stand a certain distance with one of your eyes covered and read what's on the board in front of you. I had trouble doing that when I was ten years old, so I sympathize with you on having astigmatism. That's why I got my first pair of prescription glasses when I was young, and it's been over 20 years now since I got my first pair of glasses. My eyes are a little better than they were when I first got my glasses, but I still need them to see better, even when I'm reading a book. I was an avid reader, and I think it's because I hadn't seen a really fun book I really liked at the time I was rescued by my dad from my former stepmom. That's what got me into reading, and the second book of the Harry Potter series really got me into reading the entire Harry Potter series in full. When I first got the second book in the Harry Potter series, I found out that it was only the second book, and I wanted to read what was in the first one. So I requested it for my birthday (or was it Christmas? I can't remember which one it was), and from there, I got my own Harry Potter books every time they came out in bookstores. It's crazy, but I'm a huge Harry Potter fan and have all the books and movies, including the Fantastic Beasts prequels (in movie form and book form).

I have astigmatism too! It sucks! Literally, reading this, my eyes kept burring! ...But it’s probably because I spend pretty much every waking hour in front of some kind of screen. And my eyes get all dry so I have to use eye drops a lot.

Hey, guys, what's up? So, today, I just found out that my moving day to the group home (the one that doesn't have any internet access whatsoever) would be August 23, two days after my birthday, which means that I will be getting ready to move soon. So if I don't hear from you for over two weeks, that doesn't mean that I'm dead. It just means I won't have any internet access until I get to see my parents once again. Once I do that, I might have enough internet access to upload the chapters for my stories onto Wattpad and catch up on some stuff for Wattpad. But that doesn't mean I'm dead during that time, so don't worry and don't freak out if you don't hear from me in over two weeks from August 23. Just because I don't have internet access for over two weeks doesn't mean that I won't be working on my stories in the meantime; in fact, I even backed up my stories for the moving time that I would need to get settled in and hopefully have enough time to work on my stories and crocheting projects that I have neglected to do. So don't worry, I'm not going to die soon if I don't log in on Wattpad for over two weeks from my moving day. That's why I was prepping for this moment, because it really is the biggest birthday present of my life, and I'm so excited for that to happen soon enough. But it means I won't be able to see my parents for over two weeks, so that's a minor casualty of moving in to my new home. So I'm going to have to get prepared for that.
Anyway, thank you for all the votes and comments, as well as reads, on The Siren's Human Mate (The Siren's Human Mate Saga, Book 1), and I wish everyone who's participating in the Wattys 2020 the best of luck (and I've got my fingers crossed for the day the Wattys comes out with the results of the winners)!

@pfazza Well, we recently had a hurricane come through the East Coast, and please don't call me pretty, because it's a comment that makes me feel like I'm being stalked. We're going through some cloudy weather right now, and it's hot, temperature-wise, right in the country itself along the East Coast.

Hey, guys, what's up? My story The Siren's Human Mate is now up for the Wattys 2020, and I'm keeping my fingers crossed until the results come out December 4, which won't be for a long time. But at least I got my story submitted before my birthday, which is a consolation, and very lucky on my part, because I am going to be moving to a group home, which is about an hour away from where I currently live, sometime after my birthday. And I may not be on Wattpad as much as I would like, because they don't have any internet at all. I'd have to copy and paste my stories onto different word documents so that I won't lose them, and it's going to be some time before I get back on Wattpad. I'm really sorry, but I thought you ought to know this, and I may not be able to see my parents for about two weeks after I move into the group home, so it's going to be over two weeks after I move into the group home before I'm able to see my parents again and log back in to Wattpad. I'm sorry, but it's the truth, and I really do hope to continue writing stories for Wattpad. So I'm sure it will be some time before I'm able to post any stories on Wattpad, and I wish you all the best of luck with the Wattys!

Hey, guys, what's up? In my area, we have this season called hurricane season, which means hurricanes usually affect North Carolina, and trust me, some of those hurricanes usually are strong. Right now, there's a hurricane called Hurricane Isaias coming our way, and it's only a Category-1 hurricane, which means that there will be some strong gusts of wind, plenty of rain, and some risk of tornadoes and isolated storms. But that doesn't mean that I should let my guard down, because hurricanes can get really bad really quickly. It was pretty bad this year, what with all the flooding last year, and this year's going to be really bad, what with the pandemic affecting evacuations this year. So, for all you fellow North Carolinians, I wish you the best of luck and stay safe out there! And for all of you around the rest of the world, if we ever get hit pretty badly, please send your funds to the American Red Cross and the food banks that would send fresh food to those affected by the hurricanes we have and those who are homeless, essentially. Anyway, if y'all don't hear from me for at least 24 hours, I want to let you know that I'm having some power outages and have already changed my Wattpad password. And that means I can't log on to Wattpad until the 24 hours are up for changing my password and the power outages have been fixed. I wish y'all the best of luck with the Wattys if y'all are entering, and I hope you get your best Watty Awards this year!

Hey, guys, what's up? If you're listening in onto this, please note that I'm going to be unpublishing The Oyster's Treasure to fix a few inconsistencies within the story itself, and that I will bring it back once I have gotten those inconsistencies fixed and out of the way. But in the meantime, please do check out any one of my other stories, including The Wish-Keepers Book 1: The First Wish (even though I have yet to find a cover for it and finish it), as well as The Mermaid and the Ghost, a fantasy-mystery short story I once wrote for a contest called the Home Before Dark writing contest (which I haven't won, unfortunately). But that doesn't mean I'm going to give up for the Wattys, because I'm determined to win a Watty Award for The Siren's Human Mate (The Siren's Human Mate Saga, Book 1), and I am going to keep the title, since it is quite "catchy" (pun intended, lol) ;)! Anyway, I wish you all the best of luck for the Wattys, and I hope that each of you will win!

Hey, there, guys! For those of you who are Harry Potter fans on Wattpad, give a big shout-out to J.K. Rowling, the author of Harry Potter and the soon-to-be book The Ickabog! It's her birthday today, and, speaking as a big Harry Potter fan here in the USA, I want to do something to celebrate her birthday and Harry Potter Day. Should I bring you a new update for my book that honors J.K. Rowling herself, or should I bring you a Harry Potter-based fan-fiction? I'm not really much into fan-fiction, to be honest, since I usually write fantasy that I hope is original in itself.
On the other hand, for anyone who has not read my previous announcement from last night, I have a huge dilemma that involves the Wattys 2020 submission form. I had set out to plan out what my form would look like, but there are a couple of important things that I'm missing from the submission form plans, and those two are Mature Content and Sexual Content, which is where my question comes in: If you were to go see my book in movie form, what movie rating would you rate my book, since my target audience is Young Adult readers (meaning teenagers from ages 13-18, basically, for those of you who are unaware of the book target audience settings)? I just hope you guys will get back to me on this one very soon, because I have absolutely no idea what to put for the two categories in the Wattys 2020 submission form plans for The Siren's Human Mate. Somebody please help me! :(!!

meroceank8921

Hey, guys, so I've been experiencing a glitch of sorts, where the number of unique readers for The Siren's Human Mate (The Siren's Human Mate Saga, Book 1) have not been revealed ever since July 22, 2020, and it's driving me crazy. I really wish Wattpad would get on this, and just the other day, I could not view the results of the readers or the demographics until I had to refresh the page. But it still didn't show the number of readers from July 23, 2020 to today, and I'm wondering why that is, despite the increase in reading views. Can anyone tell me what is going on, and what I need to do to fix those numbers?
As well, I have a huge dilemma. I have most of the form planned out when I finally get to the form for The Siren's Human Mate, except for a couple of things on the form plan itself: the Mature Content and the Sexual Content, which I have yet to fill out in my form plan for the Wattys 2020. And that's where my question comes in: Do any of you know if my story, The Siren's Human Mate, has any mature content or even sexual content? If so, please let me know, and I will do my best to fix it. I don't have much in the way of vulgar language, as the words there are few and in-between, and I've got a kissing scene at the end of the book (for those of you who have read my book, of course) and a couple of intimate hugs and touches. What do you guys think? Is it worth the steamy label mentioned in the Sexual Content category in the Wattys 2020 submission form or not? Please, let me know as soon as you guys can! Until next time, have a blessed day/evening! P.S. I should probably alert the fans of Harry Potter on Wattpad that J.K. Rowling's birthday is tomorrow, and that means we Harry Potter fans should find a way to celebrate Harry Potter Day on Wattpad!

Hey, guys, I have been trying to fix the mistakes that my editor made, and clearly, she has no idea that the italics are meant for thought processes, even identifying the voice-over scenes and separating them from the third-person POV scenes. I can't believe that she wouldn't just use the italics that I had in my story, and it's supposed to work with thought processes and the stuff that I had used italics for within my story. Now I have to edit my story chapters and fix the mistakes that my editor had made when she didn't use italics. It's going to be a long ride, and I clearly need an American editor on Wattpad who would respect the italics I used for my scenes and get the mistakes I had made in my book fixed as well. Is there no one who is well-educated about what italics are used for in my book and clearly experienced in the ways of editing a book well enough to get it into the Wattys 2020? Please, I need to know, and if you guys get this message, please spread it around, and I need my italics within the story, along with my writing mistakes fixed.
