i'm working on an original fic about a girl investigating her best friend's disappearance in a small town. the main suspect is her best friend's boyfriend (the mayor's son), and the police won't investigate because they insist she just ran away because she was a (currently clean) drug addict, so my main girl teams up with a rookie cop who also suspects foul play to find out what really happened.
