@husnarsn as far as i know layla majnun is originally a persian story dating as far back as the 9th century, but it was officially compiled by nizami into a written work a few centuries later. after that, many poets wrote of layla majnun as well, so the story spread and became integrated into other cultures, such as india and turkey and so on. i think of it now as more of a pan-middle-eastern-south-asian story. it is referenced a lot everywhere in that geographical area. and thank you so much!! hope you'll enjoy x
