A super late happy new year to all my favourite writers and readers here on Wattpad.
I know I've been very quiet of late and that's because I've been busy trying to complete some new projects offline which hasn't been easy(I've had writer's block for the past two weeks now.) However, coming back to Wattpad to discover that one of the books I submitted to the Ambys last year actually made it to the finish line was just... mind blowing.
Ebony's Beauty won the short story category for the Chicklit genre, and believe me when I tell you that I was beyond surprise because I actually wrote this story for the 2022 edition of Rewind The Classics and it didn't even earn an honourable mention. No acknowledgement, nothing. And it sort of made me feel like the concept/writing wasn't good enough. But to see it earn a spot here in this awards has changed my mind and restored a bit of my writer's confidence.
This win for me carries a simple message that people actually enjoy what I write even though it's amateurish and most of the time riddled with petty spelling mistakes and grammar errors. People still like it, and that's enough for me to keep on doing this.
With that being said, I'm eternally grateful to everyone who has given my books a chance. Because of you guys, I'm going to strive hard and continue doing what I love. Thank you so much for your time. I really appreciate it, God bless♥️
