"I bet," she would think out loud, offering a small, almost sheepish smile at the other, due all the questions she was asking her. The spy took a small sip of her own cup of tea, then commented: "I can't help but wonder what they do around here, though... unfinished business? I get it. But what about those that just stay in old houses scaring people? Ghost pranks?" she tried another silly, little joke, noticing her company enjoyed humour.

   the fact that she kept asking questions about it despite not really believing was quite sweet,  and the joke made amaria laugh brightly soon after.  "well,  i guess so!  some of them are particularly angry about everything,  though,  so sometimes i just let them do their own thing.  but i can understand being angry because...  it's probably scarier for them than for me."

Ekaterina paid close attention to everything the younger woman was saying, nodding along every once in a while to show her she was following it... or trying to. The technology part got her wondering, what kind of device was needed for it? Not that she would ask; if ghosts were real, she wanted nothing but to stay far away from them. With an amused chuckle, though, she offered one of her rare jokes: "Guess they just want the 'peace' of 'rest in peace', huh?"

"Sure, don't mention it," he responded genuinely, carrying the camera to the other bag once it was disconnected, putting it in its respective bag. Leon closed the bag and put the strap over his own shoulder -- "I handle this one for you," he said, just so she wouldn't have to carry all that weight for all the distance they would have to walk. "I can do this, no problem. I'll take you to my team, they're taking people somewhere safer. Stay close, all right?"

  "thanks."  she turned a few screws until she could disconnect the tripod and collapse it into its bag,  gesturing for him to carefully put the camera into the other bag.  the flashlight in her hands would be placed into one of the velcro pockets,  throwing the taller bag over her shoulder and waiting for him to close the one with the camera in it so she could grab that one too.  "you might have to help lead me out of here,  though.  i completely forgot to note which way i went."

"Of course," Leon made his way towards the camera, holding it carefully. He wanted to ask her more about the whole ghost thing, he knew nothing on the matter, but he was preoccupied — it was his job to help civilians and make sure they were safe, but since she was, until that very moment, the only person he'd found around here, he could certainly assist with the equipment that was clearly important to her.

   "i've had a really weird day.  you can sit with me,  if you like.  free country."

  "wow.  so sweet of you."  she responded sarcastically,  but she kept a small smile on her face in spite of that.  it was all in jest,  anyway,  able to recognise the light-hearted tone of the other and reflect it similarly.  "maybe you just spent too much time with unobservant people.  ..  are you sure?"

“you can, if you’d like. not like ‘m gonna force you outta here. this /is/ technically a public space. can’t really kick anyone off,” she mused, a small twinkle in the girl’s eye as she spoke. her tone was soft, although a hint of playfulness was laced into her words. “oh? you’re very observant, hm? admittedly, i do. but really- it’s quite alright. nothin’ too bad.”

   "if you insist."  amaria wouldn't exactly want to leave her behind,  and so she gave it a few long moments of thought and cast a look around.  she didn't want to invite herself to a situation,  of course.  "in which case,  maybe i'll stay.  you mentioned hoping to be alone—   you got anything weighing on your mind?"

   "if you're sure."  she shrugged,  though the gesture was followed by a laugh.  "god,  no!  i can't believe you'd even say that.  the frutier the drink the happier i am.  that's my motto."

   "i've got a whole thing on my notes app of local abandoned buildings that have creepy rumours about them."  she spoke quickly,  as if trying to pretend she was going to be very brave about everything.   "i'll read some out and whichever one you like the sound of most is the one i'll take you to,  deal?"

disregarding her slight apprehension, she’d agree. walking off in the same direction. “ where are we meant to, look, anyway ?”

   "i'll never ask for anything again."  even if it wasn't true,  she was willing to make the promise for the sake of convincing her.   "let's go.  we're gonna find a big one today.  just for you."

            “ im sure you saw something. what you WANTED to see. “  trying her best to console her, she smiled. she looked at the photo again. “ neat house though. bet it would be fun to explore the inside. wanna do that? we can get some flashlights and stuff. maybe we’ll find something cool. “

  her face faltered with betrayal,  moving the camera to narrow her eyes at the photo again.  "are you playing?  that's a—  it's right there!!"  she showed griff the camera,  turned her head to look again,  before hesitating.  "okay,  maybe it's not the best proof but i  DID  see one!"
