persephone, alice, & jasper all tried to watch the ball dropping together. persephone fell asleep. alice and jasper kissed at midnight, then hurried to both kiss one of her cheeks, too, so that she was still included while getting her (much needed) rest. when persephone woke the next working sad that she missed the ball dropping, jasper and alice turned on the recording of the ball dropping and took turns kissing her (they rewinded back to the countdown after she kissed one, so she could kiss both of them with cheers of "happy new year" echoing through the house. it was perfect.
