I know you can write a full sentence that indicates the passage time.

☆Chapter 1 immediately begins with xx years ago☆
Sometimes that's called a prologue (please note spelling). 

☆Barley for barely☆
We aren't talking grains here. A few typos is understandable, but the entire book argh!!#

☆ I's ☆
This is a WattPad phenomenon. It does not exist in the wilds. You can't even Google an example.

☆☆ Rouge for Rogues☆☆
I always imagine the Rogues showing up having red cheeks and red lipstick.. because you know, they are rouges. I start giggling... 

☆☆Aloud for allowed☆☆
Aloud means not silently. Allowed is past tense of allow.

◇◇Lie, lay, laid and lain◇◇

Just know that lied is past tense of telling a lie, not of lie as in reclining.  That would be lay or lain.

Another tricky one...
To keep past and passed straight, remember that past always has the same form, while passed is one of the forms of the verb pass
