Frances Galea is a 29 year old writer, living in the western suburbs of Melbourne. In her teen years she would get into trouble for reading when she was supposed to be studying.
Frances has always been dedicated to the Melbourne Football Club and loves going to the MCG with her dad. Sitting high in the stands, amongst the roar of the crowd is where the inspiration for her novel Wishful Thinking originated.
Frances went on to study a Diploma of Professional Writing and Editing at Box Hill Institute. Through her diploma Frances practiced the skills of workshopping, accepting feedback and was the managing editor of the 2012 Avant Anthology.
Wishful Thinking was first developed during this time.
Frances eagerly seeks out seminars and online webinars to continue her development as a writer such as Mastering Emotional Honesty with Lee Koffman, Crafting Magic from the Mundane with editor Winnie Dunn and Writing workshop: create stories with impact with Nicolas Brasch. She attends festivals like the Williamstown Literary Festival and the Melbourne Writers' Festival to connect with other authors and get inspiration for current and upcoming projects.
