today we honor all of those brave souls who lost their lives on the tragic day of 9/11. despite this being the 23rd anniversary, we should continue to pray for the families of those who lost their lives, and for everyone who was affected by this tragedy. never forget. but we should also never forget the pain this tragedy brought for those in the muslim american community. in the year 2000, the number of reported (by the FBI) hate crimes against muslims was 28. in the year 2001, that number rose to 481, most of which happened within the months of september to december. a seventeen-fold increase. we should never forget those who lost their lives on 9/11, but we should also never forget how this tragedy affected the rest of america.
never forget.
