/ ; ereshkigal is a sumerian known to be a cruel and sadistic deity as they do rule the underworld. they are the ones that command the souls that enter the seven gates of kur to drink mud and eat dust. their underworld has no means of nourishment like the heavens do. kur is known to be a very large cave to which nothing ever grows for there is no sun. the only time souls got any fruits or water were from the offerings of their family members still alive if not, mud and dust. because of this, ereshkigal is very interested in the food the modern world can bring even simple drinks being a curiosity. they were not often given such things due to their reputation in the ancient world. though because of their sudden awakening most things in the modern world bring curiosity and often riddles to which they speak. but the only reason they can indulge in such things is the rest of their pantheon is still in a deep eternal slumber. the pantheon that would otherwise place them back into the underworld, so forgive them in their sudden curiosities of the new world.
